This is a tough one for parents! On one hand, it may be keeping kids active but on the other it may lead children to unsafe locations and counts as screen time! The most important aspect is to see how this fits in your family. Use your judgement but remember to remind your kids to stay safe and stay active!

The AAP recommends kids 6 years & older get at least 60 minutes per day of physical activity. If Pokémon GO is a painless way to get your family on the move for an hour, then that's great!

In light of recent events, this quote rings true. Orlando, We are with you.

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers - so many caring people in this world.” - Fred Rogers

Schools Are Slow to Learn That Sleep Deprivation Hits Teenagers Hardest

Like I always say! Teenagers are like babies when it comes to sleep. They really need it to function at their fullest potential!

"The National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute recommends that newborn babies get 16 to 18 hours of sleep a day. It’s likely that many of them get that, because we let them. As I tell parents all the time, only a fool wakes a sleeping baby. The usual recommendation for preschool children is 11 to 12 hours, school-age children 10 hours and teenagers about 9 to 10 hours a night."

Younger people need more sleep than adults, and they face antiquated school schedules.
