Happy Saturday from me and the pups! 🐶💛
Weekends are for slowing down, taking a deep breath, and soaking in the little joys—like puppy cuddles and sunshine.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and this year’s theme — “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right” — reminds us that access to care, compassion, and recovery should never be a privilege.

For me, mental health isn’t abstract — it’s personal. It’s the quiet work of showing up, healing from trauma, and helping others find their way back to hope. Every conversation, every intervention, every act of listening matters.

Let’s continue to normalize reaching out for help — for ourselves, for our families, and for those who can’t yet see a way forward.

🌱 If you’re struggling, you’re not alone. Help is help — however it begins.

🌈 LGBTQ+ History Month is a time to honor the trailblazers, truth-tellers, and everyday heroes who changed the course of history.

Their courage reminds us that visibility saves lives — and that every story shared helps shape a more inclusive tomorrow.

Let’s keep their legacy alive by celebrating progress, honoring resilience, and uplifting the voices that still need to be heard.

Here’s to doing better together! 💙

I will remain connected to Breathe as founder as its biggest believer as I transition to focus on Change Institute (http://intervention.com/), the nation’s leader in family intervention & recovery management.

I’m thrilled to announce a new chapter for Breathe Life Healing Centers!

For many years, Breathe has been a place of refuge and renewal. Since opening our doors in November 2013, my co-founder Deb Hughes and myself, along with founding Executive Clinical Director Kathleen Murphy, LMFT, leaned into our mission: providing life-changing care through a trauma-lens, to those seeking recovery and healing. On top of that - it had to accept insurance and focus on underserved communities of women and sexual & gender minorities.

Thousands of patients have walked on to Breathe's Laurel Canyon Campus, and into our Melrose Clinic, entrusting us with their stories, their struggles, and their hope to get better. Families were invited too - both family of choice and family of origin - since we knew that family recovery lives right alongside patient outcome success.

Today, I am excited to share that Breathe is beginning a new chapter, as we say YES to Sero Mental Health and their sterling reputation to ensure our founding mission continues. The mission stays in place with more resources and a commitment to recovering.

Today we honor Bisexual Visibility Day — a reminder that bisexual voices, stories, and lives matter deeply. 💜💖💙

Bisexual people are often overlooked, but their courage, resilience, and love are vital to the LGBTQ+ community and to the larger story of recovery, visibility, and hope.

Let’s celebrate the beauty of being fully seen, fully ourselves, and unapologetically visible.

💬 How do you celebrate your own visibility — or support those in your life who are bi? Share in the comments — your story matters.

to one year ago 💫 when I was honored with the Spirit of Miriam’s House Award at Polo in the Palisades.

That day was more than an award — it was a reminder of the power of community, compassion, and the work still ahead. Miriam’s House continues to be a safe, no-cost refuge for women and their children, offering healing and hope when it’s needed most. 🫂

I’m deeply grateful for this recognition, and even more grateful for the chance to keep showing up for families in need.

Some days serenity feels cracked. For years, I reached for alcohol, ni****ne, m**h — things that numbed but didn’t heal.In recovery, I discovered new ways: breathing, prayer, and the courage to change what I can.🌱 What’s your Serenity reset button? Drop it in the comments and let’s inspire each other.

September is National Recovery Month, and it reminds me once again that recovery is not just possible — it’s powerful. I’ve witnessed countless lives, including my own, transform through hope, connection, and healing.

Recovery isn’t a straight line, but every “yes,” every step, matters. This month, let’s honor the courage of those walking the path and keep lifting each other up. 💙
