Staten Island's Port Richmond CERT is currently recruiting volunteers. Applicants must complete a five-week, 30-hour intensive basic training class given by New York City Emergency Management. The next NYCEM training will start on Wednesday, May 8 at Susan Wagner High School. Staten Islanders interested in the training may contact Team Chief Clohessy at portrichcert@gmail.com.

In addition to going on deployments, members are also trained to prepare themselves, their families, and their communities for emergencies. PR CERT represents all three Staten Island community boards.
