Not eating enough to support the scientific requirements of your goal continues to be the one of the biggest missed I see among people chasing their physique goal.

You want to โ€œtone upโ€? You need more muscle. I KNOW you think you have a lot already! I did too! (Ahem, I did NOT)

To get more muscle, you need to eat more, get enough protein,
and strength train. A single piece of toast with 1/2 an avocado on top following your 5 mile run isnโ€™t the 1-2 punch thatโ€™s gonna get you there. Dieting and trying to build muscle, in most situations, is like trying to brush your teeth and eat Oreos at the same time.

Store-bought vegan jerky is expensiveโ€ฆ but this homemade tofu jerky? Cheaper, better for you, and honestly, ridiculously good.

I used tofuโ€”because itโ€™s extra firm and perfect for absorbing all that smoky, savory flavor and really holds up to this recipe. Plus, it has 42g protein per brick.

1 brick Hodo extra-firm tofu
1 c low sodium soy sauce
1/2c water
1 tsp liquid smoke
1 Tbsp brown sugar
1 Tbsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp onion powder
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp black pepper

180* for 90 minutes

Algorithm, do your job!

Iโ€™m Dani Taylor, co-owner of Vegan Proteins Online Coaching, co-founder of Team PlantBuilt, and tour manager of the Vegan Strong Team! ๐Ÿ™Œ I started my vegan journey 23 years ago. Going vegan changed my life in so many amazing ways, from losing 90 pounds, to become a figure competitor, to building incredible communities of like-minded people. For the last 16 years, I have coached others to do the same! ๐Ÿฅ‘๐Ÿ’ช

Hereโ€™s a few fun facts about me:

1. Giacomo () and I met on during a vegan meet-up in 2008 held by .cheeke. We have been inseparable ever since and now married for nearly 8 years!

2. I used to be a circus performer when I lived in Oregon (naturally). I hula hooped professionally, but also did some fire-eating and blockhead tricks.

3. I went vegan at 16 and vegetarian at 8, so there are many animal-based foods I have never tried - but that also means I never missed them.

4. I am a born and bred New Englander. The weather sucks more than 50% of the time, but I still love it here.

5. I have PCOS and endometriosis. Going vegan seemed to reverse my PCOS and itโ€™s undetectable now, and my endometriosis is under control with medication and lifestyle.

Behind Vegan Proteins Online Coaching thereโ€™s a mission to help vegans build muscle, get healthier, lose fat and gain confidence - all without shame or guilt around food or their bodies. We offer several different levels of coaching, all designed to help you thrive on a vegan lifestyle. We do have a fat loss challenge that starts in just a few days, so if you want in on that, this is the last call.

Our Story

www.veganproteins.com What started as a simple vegan supplement shop, over time, has become so much more. As the world becomes a much more vegan friendly place (yes!), we have decided that our supplement shop it no longer as needed as it once was and weโ€™ve decided to spend the bulk of our energies on coaching, which has long been our biggest passion.

Dani Taylor and Giacomo Marchese, veganproteins.com owners, work one on one with vegan strength athletes of all levels to help them achieve their strength and physique goals. From brand new lifter to pro level bodybuilders, we guide people through nutritional goals and training plans to help them get to the next level. One thing we pride ourselves on is meeting clients where they are to help them continuously grow--no cookie cutter plans here! Every nutrition and training program is 100% tailored to the individual client with frequent check ins via our online portal and voice messaging.

For those not ready to commit to one on one coaching, we also offer video consults. This is a good option for those who want to make sure that theyโ€™re on the right path, or who just need some tweaks to their habits to keep progress moving.

Lastly, we try our best to put out some of the best quality vegan strength content we can. Our free podcast, Muscles by Brussels radio (which can be found on iTunes or at veganproteins.com under the โ€œpodcastโ€ tab) has been downloaded nearly 100 thousand times!
