Congratulations to Matthew Erickson and Gabriel De La Cruz on completing their internship with Sorin Medical! Matthew, a pre-med student at the University of Virginia, and Gabriel, an aerospace engineer at Georgia Tech, spent their second summer with Sorin Medical advancing knowledge on alternative treatments for treating knee arthritis and further analysis of the benefits of the Sorin Heart Scan in preventative cardiology - making people feel better and live longer. This weekend, Sorin summer interns GraceAnn Kinsale, Matthew Erickson, Gabriel DeLaCruz, and Krista Curcio traveled to Washington, D.C., alongside Drs. Ratcliffe, Green, Nouri, and Patel to present their summer research. This summer, our research team, led by Samuel Weistchner, published three abstracts on advancements in cardiovascular diagnostic and treatment methods. These studies include an evaluation of the relationship between CTA-derived and pressure wire–derived fractional flow reserve in stable angina, innovations in the treatment of peripheral arterial disease focusing on the efficiency of endovascular procedures via primary transpedal access, and emerging approaches to enhance diagnostic accuracy and procedural outcomes in cardiovascular care. We are very proud of the work of our research team; their dedication and innovative approach have set a high standard for impactful research. We look forward to future developments inspired by these studies.
