Look at all this snow! ❄️Now if you think that just because it is winter, that means sunglasses 😎are not necessary, you would be wrong in thinking that! Wearing sunglasses during the winter, especially in the snow, is crucial for protecting your eyes from harmful UV rays. Snow reflects up to 80% of UV rays, even on cloudy days. This bright sunlight that reflects off the snow can cause intense glare, making it difficult to see.

Happy Birthday Benjamin Franklin aka the inventor of BiFocal lenses! Back in 1784, Ben Franklin was tired of switching between distance and reading glasses. To solve that issue, he cut his distance and reading lenses in half, glued them together and alas, the BiFocal was born! Today, the BiFocal has come a long way where there is a smaller distinctive portion of the lens for reading. There is also now a more modern type of lens known as a progressive lens. The progressive lens has the distance vision on top and reading on the bottom, with a seamless transition between the two. Did you know who invented the BiFocal?

Its over in a second, doesn’t hurt and can save your vision. Have you been had your annual eye exam yet? Check out how easy it is.⬆️Fun Fact: Normal eye pressure ranges 10 to 21 mmHg. Anything above would be considered elevated, often associated with an increased risk of glaucoma.
