Last spring, I started pelvic floor therapy, something I honestly didn’t know much about at all. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I quickly realized how grateful I was to have found an incredible therapist, Maria O’Connor.
From the very first session, Maria made the whole experience engaging, supportive, and fun. Over several weeks, I learned about my own pelvic floor, did exercises to strengthen it, and came away with a whole new appreciation for this part of the body that most of us never really talk about.
I had very little experience with physical therapy (aside from when I broke my foot during a burlesque performance several years ago…Oy!), let alone pelvic floor therapy, so the whole experience was eye-opening. And I love Maria. She’s warm, funny, thoughtful, and an expert in her field.
I feel lucky to have worked with her, and I’m so excited to introduce her to you on this week’s podcast:
✨Pelvic Floor: What You’ve Always Wanted to Know (And More!) with Maria O’Connor✨
With her humor, kindness, and expertise, Maria makes an often-overlooked topic approachable and even fun. In our conversation, she explains what the pelvic floor actually is (and why it matters for everyone), why someone might seek pelvic floor therapy, her journey from physical therapist to building her own practice, and real-life stories from her work that shine a light on healing and hope.
Whether pelvic floor therapy is brand new to you or you’ve already been curious, this lively and informative episode will leave you inspired, educated, and maybe even laughing.
