This reading excerpt, taken from ‘life’ reading 4046-1, was given in March 1944 for a 32-year-old female (Stenographer).
The reading began with positive, helpful instructions to Mrs (4046) concerning her life being an opportunity to perform a job in God’s service:
‘In giving the interpretations of the records as we find them here, there is much from which to choose. There are some warnings, there are those conditions of virtues, those conditions that may become vices in the experience of the entity.
While we would magnify the virtues, we would minimize the faults; not that those warnings would not be included in that which might be indicated to make the experience for the entity a helpful one.
For to give merely the latent and manifested urges, or to give associations and as to how and why there are certain experiences as a part of the entity's activity might accomplish little unless there is also given that which if applied in the life would bring a better interpretation or a better understanding. This information is given that it may be helpful.
For what source, then, comes help? All the help an individual entity or soul may attain or gain in any experiences, is that which brings to the physical, mental and spiritual consciousness of the entity the awareness of Creative Forces or God. For, as the entity may experience, the very fact, the very consciousness that the entity has a body, a mind, a soul, or a body and a mind and a hope for the soul, should be self-evident in itself that the First Cause - no matter by what it may be termed - is mindful of thee as an individual entity, and has need of thee, and that thou hast a duty, an opportunity, a job to perform.’
The reading then gave a general overview of astrological aspects before giving this warning to Mrs (4046) about the influence of Neptune:
‘We find also the urge in Neptune to be associated with those things, people, places having to do with water. Water is the mother of materiality. Don't let materiality and material things, then, be put first and foremost in thy experience. That is the next warning. Don't let material things supplant spiritual things, but know that the material things should be a result of entertaining the spiritual forces, the creative energies and activities, and the mental application should be to coordinate and cooperate with the efforts of spiritual purposes and ideals to bring material results in the experience of the entity.’
The reading then examined four prior lifetimes for Mrs (4046) - in France, in Greece (also in the Persian / Arabian lands), in Egypt (but from Atlantis), and in Atlantis.
The reading then addressed Mrs (4046)’s present opportunities: ‘As to the abilities in the present, that to which it may attain and how :
Don't become too serious with self. Don't - don't - leave off those warnings.
Do add to thy virtues, patience, love, gentleness, kindness. For these will, indeed, bear fruit.
Study to show thyself approved, in body, in mind, in purpose.
Don't cover up. Don't become so open as to be considered one brazen in regard to the troubles or activities, but in patience, in love, in brotherly kindness, in brotherly love, ye will find harmony that will make the daily experience worthwhile.’
Six questions were then asked, including these three:
‘(Q) What have been my past associations with my present husband, [...] and how may I best help him in the present? (A) As indicated, in the experience before this - the activities wherein there were beliefs, disbeliefs, and confusion. Ye have a duty to perform to each. Do give the opportunity. And if and when, and wherever there is the rejection from the spiritual, as has been given, let thy life be as if he did not exist.
(Q) Does he really need me; if so, just how may I best supply that need? (A) He really needs the body. Really needs the judgment, really needs the spiritual ideals of the entity; and as given, in patience, in persistence, in love, in gentleness, in kindness hold to, until there is either the regeneration of the entity or the rejection entirely.
(Q) If he is sent overseas, or elsewhere, would it be best for me to remain in this area and in my present work, or return to my home in ..., New York? (A) In this area, in the present work, for you are closely associated with your own sister [288], that you had quite a job with, and with your own friend [1523], whom you didn't get along with!’
In January 1951, Mrs (4046) answered a questionnaire about her life reading and made this comment about its accuracy: “I felt that my life Reading was (true). Namely, the Reading seemed to bear on condemnation of others and material things. Not enough Spiritual thinking. I must have judged others harshly in other lives because that has been one of greatest Crosses for me to bear in this life. People have taken the wrong attitude about me from the time I was a child. Since I have matured and understand life better, I realize that I took it all too seriously and if I had had proper guidance through that period, it could have been handled differently. It is less important than I realized. I have also had quite a struggle to think more often of spiritual ways which I know brings the greater peace of mind than the material. The Life Reading also mentioned the change of personality, from the "Lulu" type to a more subdued type. I very definitely have a dual personality, one fighting the other."
