October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Some important things to consider when you are having procedures: Fat transfer to the breast is an operation that does not increase the risk of breast cancer, but it can increase the risk of false positives on a mammogram. This means you might need to have fine needle aspirations or biopsies to make sure that the nodules the radiologist is seeing are just portions of your fat graft and not something more concerning. Be sure to communicate all breast procedures with your radiologist prior to your screenings.
