It has been awhile since I took time to update this page- a lot has changed since I took the very first step of creating this page- but one thing that hasn’t is my business model and passion for making family centered support accessible and stress free.

Over the course of the past couple of years, moving to a new state and creating community in Vermont I have shifted my focus after seeing the need in my community for newborn care, especially overnights. So if you are curious about what I’ve been up to- that’s it! I’ve been spending many nights caring for newborns so parents can get some much needed rest, other nights running around hospitals and homes supporting families in birth, and others in my own bed cuddled up next to my fiancé and pups.

I have been enjoying all of the opportunities and the ways it’s expanded myself, and my circle here in vermont ✨

“I am proposing that the first way to change birth in our culture is to change how we tell children their first story, or stories, about birth. Not only the stories we tell children directly, but also to become aware of the birth stories we are telling adults within earshot of young children.” –Pam England

Moments after their Mama brought their baby sister earth side.

Another reason you might choose home birth: golden HOURS that include the whole family, and that you don’t have to advocate for, it’s simply understood and respected.

This work is bigger than me, and so it can be hard to describe - while I don’t feel called to share birth stories as they aren’t mine to share, I can tell you one thing about birth work- the most valuable thing I can offer the families I serve is my unwavering presence and attentiveness. Providing a constant assessment of the environment, and the needs of the family in the birth space. Without an exchange of words, but by being entirely tuned into the energy of the space to know where I am needed most.

My feet will always be rooted to the earth so mama can soar to the stars for her child.

And as always, I am left in awe, with such deep reverence for Mama as she comes back to earth with a baby in her arms- a warrior.

We are moving to Vermont in a week. I am feeling excited, scared, and sad as I pack up my things.
I wanted to share this news with a photo of us from our trip to Vermont in 2018, but I lost them all. I came across these pictures moments ago, including this postcard I sent home during our trip. Vermont holds a lot of firsts for me, the first time I went camping, the first time I saw a black bear, and the first time I ever imagined a life away from home. It feels good knowing it will be the home to so many more firsts, in times to come.

The transition into motherhood is beautiful… and confusing… and hard 😅
Little time for basic self care and sleep deprivation make the postpartum period even more of a challenge. An extra pair of hands around the house can make a world of a difference 🙌🏽

4:00 pm - Gentle Prenatal Yoga Class

Joins me, a Doula and yoga instructor, for the first 30 minutes of the workshop as attendees are guided through a gentle prenatal yoga class that is designed to help mothers connect more to themselves and to their babies. (Limited Spots for the gentle prenatal portion of the workshop - 10 people)

4:30 pm - Presentation

Following the prenatal yoga portion of this workshop, attendees will dive deep into what birth REALLY looks like and how it really works. (Limited seating 15 people)

In this multi-media, experiential learning event, guests will understand birth education resources that have been hugely popular in the online natural birth community and understand birthing knowledge that can bring calming peace and understanding to the process.

Guests will leave the workshop feeling fully immersed in the comforting knowledge of what birth really looks like and feels like with a profound respect for the process. Attendees will also leave with a stronger sense of clarity for what they want for their own birth (if they are planning one), and how they are going to achieve all of their goals for what they want to experience and need for themselves and their babies.

Nursing babies and children are welcome. Learn more about Gianna's philosophy and work at indiebirth.com.

**Everyone who is interested is welcome - you do NOT need to be pregnant or planning to become pregnant to attend. Experiences are much more wonderful when we have people of all ages, sexes, genders and backgrounds learning this important information!

Limited class of 15 participants; reserve your spot at: https://www.vagaro.com/excitariwellnesscenter
