That morning protein shake will surprise you, (literally in the best ways).

A protein shake can be a great option — but not every shake is built the same.

A protein shake can absolutely be a helpful meal option when you have diabetes — especially on busy days when sitting down for a full meal just is not happening.

But here's the catch: not every protein shake is created with blood sugar in mind. It helps to check the label for things like total carbs, added sugar, protein, fiber, and portion size so you know what you are actually drinking.

Glucose Guide helps you make that decision faster by letting you scan packaged foods and get a clearer picture of what may work better for your body.

With Glucose Guide, you can scan packaged foods and get a faster look at carbs and blood sugar impact so you can make more confident choices without standing in the aisle doing mental math and questioning your entire existence.

Download Glucose Guide today and start scanning your foods before they catch you off guard.

If you're living with diabetes, you already know it's not just about "watching your sugar." It's meals, meds, patterns, stress, grocery shopping, remembering what worked last time, and trying to make sense of numbers that don't always behave.

That's exactly why Glucose Guide exists.

Glucose Guide helps you track your food, log your glucose, understand how meals may affect your blood sugar, build balanced meal plans, analyze recipes, create grocery lists, and actually spot patterns in one place. It's not just another food app — it's a diabetes support tool built to help you make more confident decisions without guessing all day.

It also includes nutrition insights, blood sugar tracking, medication logging, habit support, community, and coaching tools so you can connect the dots between what you eat, how you feel, and what your body is telling you.

And the best part? You do not need a CGM, a perfectly color-coded fridge, or a "clean eating" personality to use it. You just need support that makes diabetes feel a little less overwhelming and a lot more doable.

If you've been wanting help with food, blood sugars, meal ideas, and daily consistency, Glucose Guide was made for you.

Steady blood sugars do not have to start with boring food.

This week's Diabetes Meal Plan is packed with simple, satisfying meals that actually make sense for real life — think ginger-lime chicken with sweet potatoes and broccoli, seared tuna salad with avocado, and protein-packed breakfasts that help you feel full instead of fighting for your life by 10 a.m.

If meal planning usually feels overwhelming, this is your reminder that it can also feel supportive, flexible, and a whole lot easier when the meals are built to work with your body, and we do it for you every week. You can use it as inspo, or take all of the suggestions.

Check out this week's plan and grab some ideas you can actually use. Your blood sugar — and your future hangry self — might be very into it.

As important as blood sugar balance is to our overall health, our culture, preferences, and our joy matters just as much.

As a health coach and nutritionist, my job isn’t to hand you a list of “good” and “bad” foods and walk away. It’s to teach you how to think about food—how to read your body, notice patterns, and build strategies that actually fit your life.

We work on things like:
• pairing carbs with protein and fiber, and thinking through logical swaps
• timing meals and movement
• understanding your glucose data without judgment
• learning what your body responds to
• making choices that feel confident, not restrictive

Together, we build flexibility + self-trust.

You deserve tools.
You deserve context.
You deserve joy at the table.

And yes—you can care about your A1C and your family recipes. Both matter.

Today on HangryWoman.com and GlucoseGuide.app, we’re talking about carb balance. Check it out on either, and don’t forget to download the app for the diabetes food journal.

This sandwich? Eggs, bacon, cheese, greens, white bread. Comfort. Flavor. Zero regret.
The analysis? A polite little nudge that says: solid start, room to rebalance.

And that right there is the whole point.

Glucose Guide (aka GiGi 💜) isn’t here to scold your plate or take your favorite foods hostage. It’s here to teach you what balance looks like for your goals—so you can look at a meal like this and think, “Cool. I know what to tweak next time,” instead of, “Did I mess up?”

More fiber? Easy. Different bread? Optional. Add a veg, shift a portion, pair with intention.
Confidence > perfection. Every time.

I built this app because people with diabetes deserve to cook and eat without hesitation—armed with information, not fear.
You don’t need “better” food. You need better understanding.

And once you have that?

You get to enjoy the foods you love… with your head high and your plate working with you, not against you.

📲 Download Glucose Guide and learn what balance looks like for you.

You’ll always hear me saying “we” but the reality is that is just me!

My is Mila and I created , a charitable organization, and diabetes health app that helps people with balancing blood sugars through delicious recipes, virtual diabetes education events, health coaching, and small, but mighty changes.

I was misdiagnosed with type 2 diabetes almost 10 years ago, and rediagnosed with LADA, a form of Type 1 Diabetes.

I earned my Master’s in Nutrition earlier this summer, and I’m working toward becoming a CDCES, which I’m really excited about.

Earlier this year, I launched Gigi — the diabetes food journal. I wanted people to have nutrition tools in their hands that were kind, educational, informative and fun to use.

I hope you explore what the community has to offer. I’ve been writing recipes for 14 years, and I’m so glad it led me to create this amazing tool. I hope you’ll share it with others!

Lots of people think this resource is made by a big team. It’s just me, my passion for nutrition, and a long list of ideas and tools that my community asks me for.

I hope to get to know you on this journey! Let me know how we become connected, and what you hope to see more of in the app!
