Long before I stepped into the role of teacher, Reiki became the practice that saved me.

At 18, a car accident left me paralyzed.
Western medicine repaired my spine… but nothing could reach the fractures no one could see — the mental, emotional, and spiritual wounds. I felt like a ghost in my own life — as if I had survived the impact, but not the aftermath.

Reiki was the first practice that began to heal the parts of me nothing else could reach.
It brought me back into wholeness.
It taught me to breathe without survival mode in my lungs.
To loosen the pain that clung to my body, my heart, my spirit — and to finally begin the work of returning to myself.

Reiki led me to Yoga.
Yoga led me to Ayurveda.
Together, these practices didn’t just guide me — they completely reshaped my life. I went from managing a café to studying Ayurvedic medicine, and ultimately building my first holistic practice — a path rooted in healing, clarity, and purpose.

None of this transformation would have been possible without Reiki.
It was the doorway.
The turning point.
The practice that brought me fully home to myself.

That is why I created the New York City Reiki Academy — to share the same depth, clarity, and transformative power that reshaped my life from the inside out.

Here are 5 things most people don’t know about traditional Reiki:
