You have two options when it comes to losing fat:

Option 1: Start a low calorie diet. Eat 1,200 calories a day or less. Cut out carbs. No fruit. No sweets. No fun.

Option 2: Use a calorie cycling approach where you have higher calorie days and lower calories days. Eat the foods you enjoy whenever you want them.

The former can work for some, but for most it usually ends up making them fatter because it’s entirely too restrictive and impossible to follow long term.

Whereas the latter gives you more flexibility to live and enjoy your life, which means you’re able to lose body fat while still eating normal food.
This works by..

✅ Ensuring you’re still in a calorie deficit overall
✅ Giving you structured higher and lower calorie days
✅ And keeping your metabolism in “fat burning mode”

Allowing you to diet for longer, lose more body fat, and keep it off long term.

My best advice to decrease hunger while you’re dieting is to increase volume.

Volume = more food for less calories (which everyone wants when they’re hungry)

Opt for things like
- Lean meats
- Veggies
- Fruits

Avoid things like
- Fatty meats
- Highly-processed foods
- Liquid calories
- High-calorie condiments

That’s not to say you can’t have these foods, but if you’re hungry, those foods take up a lot of calories and usually don’t satisfy your hunger.

Everyone wants to skip over the “beginner habits”…

But what if I told you the 5 things that helped me lose 40lbs are still the habits I stick to 7 years later?

If you can’t stay consistent with the basics - water, steps, protein, planning, and training with purpose - more complexity won’t save you.

Drinking a gallon of water isn’t extreme. It’s foundational.
Getting 8-10K steps is how I stay active and move my body between gym workouts.
Pre-tracking meals (and dessert)? That’s balance with built in boundaries.

Mastering fitness and nutrition isn’t about doing more.
It’s about doing the fundamentals… consistently.

Most people don’t fail because the basics stopped working.
They fail because they stopped doing them.
