Your body is giving you the gift of life every day. Connect with your body through gratitude & love. And feed it what it needs. After an intense workout this morning, all I could think of was an Energy Booster. This was heavenly. The flavor is sweet, slightly nutty, and the texture is light: Oatmilk+ kale +spinach+komboca+banana. A super-nutritious plant-based Coconut Chia Granola Parfait with peanut butter+chocagave+h**pseeds+pumpkinseed topped with goji berries+mulberry berries.
Freshly made Apple Juice
Watermelon +orange fruit salad is colorful, energizing, low in sugar & loaded with essential vitamins.
Red Bean Mixed Green Salad: Fresh, flavorful, tossed with all kinds of deliciousness+ basil pesto (so good!); + carrot+ bellpepper+ cherry tomatoes+redonion+grapes+black olives
🔍Kabocha’s vibrant orange color is an excellent source of beta carotene, and it’s also high in fiber and loaded with iron, vitamin C, and some B vitamins.
Apples, watermelons & Carrots loaded with antioxidants are good sources of Vitamin C(also called ascorbic acid), & Vitamin A. Vit A helps skin, bone cell development, maintaining healthy vision, heart health & ensuring the normal function of your immune system. Also, an often-overlooked aspect of health is hydration level, and consuming watermelons and apples provides water in your body. The question is,how do you stay healthy during the quarantine?
All around the world, people are staying at home all day and with the temporary closing of businesses, many people are over-purchasing and consuming highly processed foods, which tend to be high in fats, sugars, and salt. It’s essential to focus on health, both physical and mental. Eating a healthy, balanced diet will help you mentally, physically, and emotionally. Exercise is a crucial part of staying physically and mentally fit. Keep your body moving. You can do this by taking walks and staying six feet apart from others who are doing the same or uploading at-home workouts. If you want to rev your immune system, you should also try limiting unhealthy snacking.
Consuming enough fiber will help with the feeling of fullness, which helps prevent overeating. Balance is important. Include vegetables, fruit, and wholegrain foods in all meals. Wholegrains foods include unrefined whole grains rather than refined grain foods such as white pasta rice & bread. Also, proper hydration is crucial for optimal health. Drinking water instead of sugar-sweetened beverages is a simple way to limit your intake of sugar & excess calories.

Motivational Monday; My love, this time, is difficult, painful, heartbreaking, and uncontrollable. Especially with so many deaths, sicknesses, and hardships that are surrounding you and with so many things been canceled, postponed, or closed due to COVID-19. You think you're missing out on opportunities. However, they are still waiting for you. But, because of the attachments to things, it arouses fear, sadness, anxiety, anger, and you miss out on most of life’s present beauty. The main thing right now is not to let life’s difficulties get the best of you. We grow, evolve, and learn through life’s challenges. You make adjustments and instead fuel all your negativity & practice mindfulness. When you let go of all your negativity, you will free your mind to accept what’s happening & you will begin to start living in the present. Above all, you can start by being grateful for your life, loving yourself, and practicing self-care. This moment is where your most significant opportunity lies. This moment is your life! ❤️ So, take a moment and thank God for the gift of life. Today, I was confused about what to eat, so I just cooked a variety of foods. I started my day with an anti-inflammatory green smoothie, made with homemade unsweetened almondmilk+spinach+turmeric+banana+ginger +a pinch of cinnamon it was heavenly. 🥙Then I made a fruit salad. Later on, I was rearranging my freezer and stumbled upon some ackee and roasted breadfruit (I'm not a lover of ackee); however, I made fried plantain, ackee & saltfish-( also known as baccala or salted codfish). I used some of the cooked up saltfish and made saltfish Taco and Crab cake for my grand-princess.
A Spinach Salad with strawberry+bell pepper+h**pseeds- pecans=tomatoes+red onion and a homemade agave-balsamic vinaigrette, and it were soo delicious.
For dinner, a quick and healthy sprouted grain wrap served with agave lime cajun shrimp and (mashed avocado+cilantro-lime-follow your heart dairy-free sour cream+sea salt) black beans+corn+pineapple+mango. My stomach was so satisfied after eating all these foods. @ Quarantine 2020

Eat Healthy Daily ”Let food be thy medicine.” Many people have to stay at home to lessen the spread of COVID-19. Now you have a lot of time on your hand to prepare your foods. And there's no better time to start eating healthy and practice self-care. Strengthening your immune system can help your body in case you do come in contact with the virus. The more plants you eat, the more antioxidant-rich, vitamin-rich, and mineral-rich your diet will be. The foods that you eat are either going to fight against it or support it. Antioxidants play an essential role in helping your immune system. — in addition to protecting your vital organs, cells, and tissues. Anthocyanidins are a type of antioxidant Anthocyanidins are responsible for the purple color in your fruits & vegetables like blueberries, blackberries, plums strawberries, pomegranate,red cabbage, cherries, cranberries. When we eat refined, added sugars, sugary beverages, they're going to have a negative impact & lower our abilities to fight against any immune stressors like the flu or other viruses. Balance is essential, even when it comes to foods you might consider healthy. Adding foods that are rich into zinc into your diet is a great way to boost your immune system. Low-calorie options like legumes (chickpeas, lentils, beans, which are high in fiber) & shellfish like oysters, mussels, shrimp). Having a healthy gut is critical in supporting a robust immune system. Fermented foods are high for your stomach because they're loaded with probiotic bacteria like raw sauerkraut, Kombucha, & yogurt. Cooking with lots of spices & herbs are particularly beneficial for the body’s immune system, turmeric, ginger, cayenne pepper, garlic, cinnamon, rosemary, thyme, cardamom. Herbs that can help to support immune system function. Astragalus root dried angelica root,-chamomile-ginger-dried orange peel. Eat Healthy Daily. ”Let food be thy medicine.” A healthy diet plays a significant role in bolstering your immune system. Fruits and vegetables offer a balanced mix of vitamins and minerals. Vitamin C plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy immune system. This means that it helps kill off harmful bacteria and viruses that can lead to infections.
Fight off infection with :
Vitamin C (citrus fruits, leafy green vegetables, peppers, strawberries, guavas, and papaya)
Vitamin B6 (bananas); Vitamin A potent antioxidant (carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkin, and squash)Vitamin E, folate, and iron (peas, broccoli, beans, and leafy greens); Selenium (garlic and broccoli); Zinc-Enhances immune function. The body needs zinc to activate T-cells, which are critical for proper immune function, and that is why people who are deficient in zinc tend to more susceptible to a variety of illnesses, including the common cold. (beans, mushrooms, spinach, avocado, and chickpeas)
Fruit salad: starfruit-guavas-apples-honeydew-strawberries
Starfruit is rich in Polyphenols - this can positively impact anti-inflammatory processes and can help repair cell damage: Guavas are one of the richest food sources of vitamin C
Beet Smoothie- h**p milk-ginger-beets.
Ginger has immune-boosting benefits. The root is not only an antibacterial, but it has anti-inflammatory effects.
Sandwich: whole grains bread- avocado- alfalfa sprouts- mixed greens-tomato-cucumber-dairy-free- plant-based cheese slice (Daiya)
Shrimp Miso soup with brown rice- onion-garlic-assorted color bell peppers- scallion- cayenne pepper-carrots- mushrooms and avocado slices. Miso is rich in essential minerals and a good source of various B vitamins, vitamins E, K, and folic acid. As a fermented food, miso provides the gut with beneficial bacteria that help us to stay healthy, vibrant, and happy. Miso is made from fermented soybeans and considered to be high in salt. Soy products are widely produced from genetically modified (GM) soybeans. So, read the label to be sure that it is from organically grown & not genetically modified soybeans and use in small quantities.

Eat Healthy Daily ”Let food be thy medicine.” I woke up this morning with all intentions of making fish soup after making my smoothies.
Then I looked outside the window and realized that it was rainy. So my taste buds made a switch on me, so I grabbed a few vegetables based on their healing properties, and I made this Kabocha Squash Carrot & Fennel soup garnished with fennel fronds and toasted fenugreek seeds.
The Perfect healthy soup blended with flavors- it was so great! The sweetness of squash with hot & spicy cayenne(a bit of zing to its flavor) and crunch subtly enhances other flavors.
The vibrant orange color lets us know it is an excellent source of beta carotene, high in fiber, iron, Vit. A,C, & some B Vitamins.
I boiled the Kabocha and carrot & I used the water as vegetable stock.
I remove them from the stock and place them in the food processor (or blender) and puree until smooth. Then set it aside. In a saucepan or stockpot with olive oil, sauté over medium-heat the washed and sliced fennel bulb, onion, garlic, turmeric, cayenne pepper, sea salt (optional) to taste until it softens begin to brown. Add the squash, stir to combine cook for about 10-15mins. Transfer to blender and blend until the soup is pureed with some texture. Return the soup to the pot and cover, cook for 5 mins. Serve and eat and enjoy!

Beet, carrot & celery Smoothie:Base H**p Milk-beet-carrot-celery-ginger. I made crab & shrimp cakes for my granddaughter a few days ago, and she loved them. Today she asked for more so I made her two Crab & shrimp Cakes using freshly cracked crab legs crabmeat+chopped shrimps almond flour-vegenaise-bell peppers- onion, old bay seasoning, Cadia organic dijon mustard bake on a baking tin coated with cooking spray in a 350 degree F oven for 35-45 minutes

Before we dive in, let me clear up a significant misconception about drinking only hot herbal teas like lemon, garlic, thyme, garlic, burdock, bulletin, etc. to keep your immune system healthy. Learn to balance it all❤️ This morning’s workout was on .
Meanwhile, on stay-home order, my granddaughter and I started a daily workout routine. Working out with friends or your children can be rewarding because it keeps everyone active. As everybody knows, exercise is essential ☀️ Sunlight is also necessary, and walking outside is the best way to get it. When you have the chance to go out, take a deep breath of the fresh air
😮Rest and maintaining a grateful, cheerful, contented attitude is vital to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
Cleanliness is important. Keep your body clean on the outside and wash the inside by drinking enough healthy liquids and foods.

Usually, I don't use green juice powder, but I must admit while on lockdown, I had to make many adjustments to avoid going to the grocery. This is definitely a meatless dish you would enjoy 😊
Curry-Coconut Chickpeas Garbanzo serve hot, over brown rice mixed with quinoa, and garnished with chopped fresh cilantro. Accompanied by Mixed-Greens with cucumber & pineapple chunks.
This Curry- Coconut Chickpeas could also be served with SWEET POTATO OR CAULIFLOWER, or SPINACH RICE or any other Healthy Vegetables. 🙂Soak dried chickpeas overnight and boil or use canned organic chickpeas (drained & washed)
Curry -Coconut Chickpeas :
In a pan/skillet, heat coconut oil over medium-high heat, add in slice Red onion, chopped scallions, yellow & orange bell peppers, stirring frequently to desired softness; add minced garlic, ginger, thyme then add cayenne pepper -sea-salt (Optional) Add chickpeas
I used freshly made coconut milk with turmeric and a black pepper brought to a boil and add ingredients from the skillet and simmered.

Eat Healthy Daily. ”Let food be thy medicine”🌿 For those of you reading this who are living in a country or state that has a stay-at-home order and feel trapped. A stay-at-home advisory doesn’t mean you’re in prison. It just means that you're protecting yourselves and doing whatever it takes to slow the spread of coronavirus. 💦🚿🧼🧴
📌The best advice I can give you is to take a pause, inhale a few deep breaths, then look around at all the things you have to be grateful for. Take nothing for granted and think of every breath as a gift. I've found that during trying times like these, the simplest things matter the most. Sure, you're trapped inside your home or apartment, but all's not lost. ❗In times like this, we want to make sure we are not eating out of stress but rather releasing your stress outside the kitchen. ❓The question is, how do you make sure you don’t gain a lot of weight while being at home all day?
These are the moments when you should focus your diet on nourishing your bodies by looking at the foods that are surrounding you is healthy Also, it is an excellent time to start cooking a little bit more.
