What is progress in yoga?
Progress is a mindset. Of course, physical progress is also progress, but psychological and emotional progress is a by-product of a consistent yoga practice.
Real progress are changes you can feel off the mat, and can be felt when you find joy in small things, presence in random moments, acceptance to what is, and compassion to yourself and others.
Practicing more difficult posture such as the splits and not allowing the ego to take over and push yourself too much) allows you to see what the body can do and have fun with a specific focus!

A gorgeous slow-mo Chaturanga with @easttowest_yoga
Inhale. Really notice the slow ripple, or annulation, forward from down-dog to high plank. Exhale. High up on the toes, press yourself forward so the shoulders line up with the fingertips. Wrap the elbows in as you bend down, weight forward, to a low plank, or Chaturanga Dandasana. Inhale. With the thighs firm, press yourself forward as you push away from the mat, bending from your center pelvis into an upward-dog. Shoulder back, elbow pits forward, lift the sternum towards your chin, and your chin towards your sternum. Breathe.
