I remember preparing so much for my first baby.

Complete akong baby bag at 35 weeks. Everything was organized… and of course, I thought I was ready.

One thing I’m really grateful for?
My husband and I attended a breastfeeding class together.

And honestly… that changed everything for me.

Because when the days got hard—when I was exhausted, in pain, and questioning if I had enough milk—
he was there reminding me,

“Love, gamay pa ang tummy ni baby… okay ra na.”

He listened. He learned. He stayed.
That kind support made my breastfeeding journey possible for years.

But even with that preparation…

When my baby arrived, I realized—
I still wasn’t fully prepared for the - FOURTH TRIMESTER.

And my labor journey had its own unexpected turns with my first and second baby.

Walay gyud nakaingon nako unsa ka overwhelming ang first few days.
The exhaustion. The emotional shifts.
Mga times where I asked:
“Sakto ba ni akong gibuhat?”

Now, as a mom of three, I can honestly say…
this is the part most of us are least prepared for.

We prepare so much for the baby…
but not for ourselves.

Let me ask you…

💗 Do you know how to manage labor pains naturally?
💗 Do you know how to properly establish your milk supply?
💗 Have you ever held a newborn before?
💗 Do you know what to expect in the first few days after birth?
💗Did you know your newborn’s tummy is only the size of a marble on day 1?
Mao nang dili nila kailangan daghan dayon og milk… but if you don’t know this, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or even mahadlok. Normal ra na, espcially first time tanan.

That’s why preparation matters.
And support matters.

I’m very honored to be working with Nadine Casino — a registered nurse, mom of three, founder of Modern Nanays of Mindanao, and founder of Alima Mother Support Center.

Together, we created a space for you to feel prepared, supported, and confident—not just for baby, but for YOU.

One of my holy grails for youthful skin ✨ and extra tummy support since I don't have gallbladder anymore! I also use this as a natural alternative to store-bought broth cubes or chicken stock. Plus, it’s a staple for Vito’s meals too! 🥣💛

Being in New York…
I heard so many voices.

Different opinions.
Different ways of living.
Different ideas of what success should look like.

And for a moment, it can get confusing—
what to follow, what to believe, what to chase.

But I realized something while I was there…

Not every voice deserves your attention.

I’ve heard this before, but it hit differently this time—
don’t take advice from people who are not where you want to be.

And more than that…
learn to filter what you listen to.

Because the truth is,
the clearer your values are,
the easier it becomes to make decisions.

You stop trying to keep up.
You stop second-guessing every step.
You stop needing everyone to agree with you.

And you start choosing what aligns.

New York may be a city that moves fast,
but it reminded me of something simple—

I don’t have to.

What’s one value you’ve learned to stand firm on lately?

We are raising children in a world that is changing faster than ever.

Here are a few realities that made me pause as a mom:

• AI can now write, design, analyze, and make decisions—faster than humans
• Information is no longer scarce or hard to access
• Children spend 6–8 hours a day in school, plus additional time online
• Teens spend around 4–5 hours daily on social media, where validation is often measured in likes and views
• 1 in 7 adolescents globally experience mental health challenges
• Studies show that emotional intelligence, character, and self-control are stronger predictors of life outcomes than IQ

So the question shifts from:
“What should our kids know?”

To:
“Who are they becoming?”

Because no matter how advanced technology becomes:

• AI cannot replace empathy
• AI cannot build real relationships
• AI cannot form character
• AI cannot live with faith, values, and purpose

This is why we’re choosing to be more intentional:

• More real-life, experiential learning
• More connection over comparison
• More formation, not just information
• More focus on character

Not because this is the only way—
but because this is what aligns with our values as a family.

In a world becoming more intelligent,
character will be the real advantage.

Send this to a mama who’s raising her kids with intention 🤍
