If you have colon cancer, this interests you!
Hello everyone! I'm Doctor Islam Radhy and today, let's delve into something really fascinating: the dynamic duo of cancer treatment: oxaliplatin and Xeloda, also known as capecitabine. Think of them as Batman and Robin in our fight against this formidable enemy: cancer.

So what's the problem with oxaliplatin? Imagine it as a mighty warrior, boldly attacking cancer cells, blocking their ability to multiply and thrive. And Xeloda? She is the secret agent of this story. Once inside the body, it transforms into a substance that cancer cells simply cannot resist absorbing. And then... BAM! Hit from within.

But this is where it gets really interesting. We need to talk about cutting off the life pathways of cancer cells: that's angiogenesis and their energy supply. Let's imagine cancer cells as these little factories that create problems. They need a constant flow of materials and energy. If we manage to eliminate them, it's game over for them. It's like shutting down the roads and power lines in a bad city.

Now, let's imagine this: if we don't stop angiogenesis (which is like building new pathways for these bad guys) and cut off their energy supply, our treatments could be like trying to put out a fire while someone is still adding fuel. he. That's a tough battle, right? It makes the cancer harder to beat and can cause it to spread faster, affecting the results of your treatment and your life.

But hey, what if we manage to block these supplies? It's a completely different story. It's like putting a huge lock on those factories that cause problems. Treatments like oxaliplatin and Xeloda suddenly become super effective because the cancer cells are now weak and vulnerable. This means better chances of shrinking that tumor and really kicking cancer's butt!

Now, let's talk about something crucial. Sometimes our heavyweights, conventional treatments, need a little support. Because? Imagine trying to knock down a huge wall with just a hammer. Tough, right? But what if you had a whole toolbox?

Enter the secret agents of our story: natural ingredients that can block angiogenesis and starve cancer cells.

A patient with colon cancer asked on Facebook:

I’m stage 3. Had surgery Dec 12. Recovering well but I went into surgery strong.

I will be starting four rounds of Oxaliplatin (IV Day 1) and Xeloda (pill Days 1-14), then days 15-21 rest/recovery. Repeat for 12 weeks total.

I’m not as strong now because of surgery. Still walking 2+ miles daily. Getting as much protein as possible.

I’ve lost 10 pounds already. Oncologist thinks I will handle all this chemo well due to age (54) and overall good health. I’m still nervous. He told me to just KEEP WALKING. That and hydration. Seems the side effects can still kick your butt. Any other thoughts?

"Dr. Ciato":

I understand your concerns about your treatment with Oxaliplatin and Xeloda. Talking about them can help you better understand how they work and how they fit into your fight against cancer.

Oxaliplatin, which you will receive intravenously on the first day of each cycle, is a type of chemotherapy that damages the DNA of cancer cells, preventing their growth and division.

It is often used to treat certain types of cancer, such as colorectal cancer.

Like any chemotherapy treatment, it can have side effects, but your oncologist believes you are in good shape to handle it, which is a positive sign.

Xeloda, on the other hand, is a chemotherapy pill that you take for the first 14 days of each cycle.

It works by interfering with DNA synthesis, also preventing the growth of cancer cells. An advantage of Xeloda is that you can take it at home, which can be more comfortable compared to treatments that require frequent visits to the hospital or clinic.

Both drugs are part of a comprehensive approach to treating cancer, aiming to stop the growth and spread of cancer cells.

However, as we have discussed before, it's also important to consider the tumor environment. Angiogenesis, the process by which new blood vessels are formed, is crucial for tumor growth. Blocking this process can be an effective strategy in fighting cancer.

The Graviola Prozono supplement may offer benefits in this regard, as it is believed to have properties that affect both angiogenesis and the energy supply to cancer cells.

Graviola might help reduce energy availability to cancer cells, while ozone could influence the formation of new blood vessels necessary for tumor growth.

In summary, while Oxaliplatin and Xeloda work to directly attack cancer cells, additional strategies like Graviola Prozono could complement these treatments by altering the environment that supports tumor growth.

This dual approach can be an integral way of addressing your cancer treatment. Remember, it's always essential to discuss any new supplement or change in your treatment with your medical team.
