Q: How is 988 different than 911?

A: 988 was established to improve access to crisis services in a way that meets our country’s growing su***de and mental health-related crisis care needs. 988 provides easier access to the Lifeline network and related crisis resources, which are distinct from the public safety purposes of 911 (where the focus is on dispatching Emergency Medical Services, fire and police as needed).

Honor Juneteenth with this presentation about the Landmark SCOTUS decision showing the intersectionality where the right to FAPE applies to ALL Americans... Separate in not necessarily equal...

In anticipation of Juneteenth, join us at 7:00PM ET on June 14 to look back at the legacy of Brown vs. Board of Education and forward to the promise of further changes to education policy. Rawle Andrews, Jr., Esq., APAF Executive Director, will moderate this panel discussion featuring Michael K. Fauntroy, Ph.D., Associate Professor at George Mason University; Regina James, M.D., Deputy Medical Director at the APA; the Hon. Rhetta A. Bowers, Texas State Representative; and Benjamin F. Chavis, M.Div., D.Min., President and CEO of the Thurgood Marshall Center Trust. Watch live on Facebook or view the recording of this compelling conversation! facebook.com/TMCTInc
