✨ Beyond The Stigma: Youth Healing Re-Imagined ✨

To end the day, the students participated in a fun and energizing “Move & Breathe” session. They broke into three groups and played fun, interactive games that encouraged movement, mindfulness, and teamwork. It was the perfect balance of relaxation and excitement, giving everyone a chance to connect, laugh, and release stress.

This closing activity reminded us that healing can also look like joy, play, and community. It was a truly uplifting way to wrap up the summit and left the students feeling recharged, supported, and inspired. 💙✨

✨ Beyond The Stigma: Youth Healing Re-Imagined

A few weeks ago we kicked off our annual Youth Mental Health Summit with an inspiring first session: Uplifting Youth Voices for Real Power & Healing. 💬🌱

This dynamic panel, featuring Krystal Miller, Jasmine Bowie, Tiyanna Washington, and D. Zuleka Henderson, reminded us that young voices are not just the future, they are the NOW. 🙌🏾

This is just the beginning. Stay tuned as we’ll be sharing more photos and highlights from the other powerful sessions throughout the week. 💜

We know we’re a little late, but we couldn’t let World Health Day pass without a shoutout 💙🌍

This year’s theme, “Healthy Beginnings & Hopeful Futures,” reminds us how crucial it is to protect the health of mothers and newborns — especially Black mothers, who are 3–4x more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes.

At the Arthur Ashe Institute for Urban Health, we’re committed to raising awareness and fighting for equitable healthcare for all. Let’s keep the conversation going, because every mother deserves a healthy beginning and a hopeful future. 💪🏾💕
