Here's a real story of how I helped one of my clients recently:
Background:
Sabrina was having a tough time with Janette, a lady at her job. Janette sometimes wasn't very nice, and this made Sabrina feel unhappy and unsure about how to act around her. Sabrina wanted to have a peaceful work environment where she could feel happy and comfortable.
How I Helped:
1. Understanding Janette: I explained that Janette might feel stressed or worried, which could make her act in ways that aren’t always nice. I helped Sabrina see this from a new perspective, like trying to understand a puzzle.
2. Being Professional: I gave Sabrina special advice on how to stay kind and calm. I suggested that Sabrina imagine she has an invisible shield that keeps her safe from feeling sad when Janette is unkind.
3. Keeping Calm: I shared secrets about how to feel peaceful, like imagining being in a calm, beautiful place or taking deep breaths when feeling stressed.
Special Things I Said:
"Janette sees how hard you work and deep down, she thinks you’re really kind. Maybe she’s having a tough day when she’s not nice."
"It’s hard when people at work aren’t kind, but remember, you’re wonderful just as you are. Keep your space peaceful."
"Sometimes, Janette wants to feel important, and that makes her act tough. Try to send her kind thoughts from your heart."
What Happened:
Sabrina tried all the things I suggested. She pretended to have an invisible shield at work and thought about her happy place when things got tough. Soon, she found it easier to work with Janette. The place where they worked became happier for both of them, and Sabrina felt stronger and more comfortable dealing with tricky situations.
