At NYC Autism Charter Schools, we love sharing effective practices with our partners in education 💙
Two of our Clinical Supervisors, Jackie Abrams and Alex Nieto, had the opportunity to present to 60 educators at Mid‑Bronx Early Childhood Center. Their presentation, “Autism in the Classroom: Addressing Challenging Behavior,” highlighted effective practices to teach adaptive alternatives to challenging behavior. 
We’re grateful for the chance to collaborate, learn together, and strengthen our shared commitment to supporting every child 🌟

The learning that takes place within our walls is remarkable and goes far beyond the bounds of traditional education. Students are learning to speak and communicate for the first time, to tolerate medical visits and sit still for a haircut, to take turns with friends, to use a restroom independently, to hold down a job and, in some cases, travel to and from on their own. These are just a few of the many, many skills being taught at NYC Autism Charter Schools every day – skills that are tailored to meet each student’s unique needs and help them reach their unique potential.

Because despite the incredible demand for our services, the funding we receive from the NYC Department of Education has been frozen for the last seven years.
