March is Women’s History Month, a time to honor the vision, courage, and leadership of women creating real change.

We are proud to spotlight our co-founders, Colleen Brennan and Dr. Stephanie Cohen Walsh, longtime friends, accomplished healthcare professionals, and passionate humanitarians dedicated to improving the lives of women and children in underserved communities worldwide.

Colleen, a pediatric oncology and intensive care nurse, and Dr. Stephanie, a plastic surgeon, have spent decades using their medical expertise to serve vulnerable communities. From leading Operation International Kids in 2008 to co-founding XO World Project Foundation in 2023, they have expanded their mission to bring essential healthcare, clean water, sustainable farming programs, education, and community empowerment initiatives to those who need it most.

Today is World NGO Day, and we’re pausing to reflect with gratitude on how far this journey has taken us.

Our work continues to grow across Ghana, Kenya, and Guatemala. From medical missions and hands-on clinical training to clean water initiatives, dry season farming programs, and economic empowerment efforts, each project is rooted in partnership, sustainability, and dignity. What began as a commitment to serve has evolved into long-term relationships and community-driven progress.

Growth for us is not simply expansion. It is a deeper impact. It is trust built over time. It is skills transferred, opportunities created, and hope strengthened within the communities we walk alongside.

To our partners, volunteers, educators, supporters, and everyone at the heart of this work, thank you. Your compassion, leadership, and dedication are the reason this mission continues to move forward.

Water is life. And yet, for some, the lack of it becomes loss. 💔

As we stood with a mother in her community, she shared a story that stayed with us, not because it was rare, but because it wasn’t. She spoke about the long walks for water, the hours under the sun, the waiting, and the exhaustion.

And then, quietly, she told us about her child. A life lost not from lack of love, but from the gap between need and access. Not because she didn’t care. Not because she didn’t try. But because water was too far, too unsafe, too uncertain. 😔

In that moment, everything became clear. This is not just about water. It’s about life, health, and the distance no mother should have to face just to keep her child safe. Across communities in Ghana, families walk for hours, children miss school, and mothers carry more than water. They carry responsibility, risk, and impossible choices.

That’s why bringing water closer matters. Because when water is within reach, health improves, time is restored, and lives are protected. No mother should have to tell a story like this.

Clean water changes everything.

Through our work, 21 water projects are now completed and running in 21 underserved communities, with 10 more under construction, bringing safe water to even more families.

Access to safe water prevents disease, keeps children in school, and gives families peace of mind. Health improves, daily life becomes easier, and opportunity has room to grow.

This is why we do what we do. Because sometimes the most powerful change begins with something as simple and essential as water. 💧
