🧠✨ Want a better understanding of how to include all three in your sessions to improve balance with direct feedback both in person and on Zoom?

Well good news, you can because on April 26th, we’re heading to Chicago to teach you how to rebuild balance from the inside out — using the three systems that actually determine balance:
👀 Vision
🎧 Vestibular
🦶 Proprioception

This is NOT a “stand on one leg” workshop or gimmicky instagram eye exercises that dont’ actually shift balance long term.

It’s a practical, hands‑on deep dive into how the nervous system collects and prioritizes sensory information — and how subtle shifts can dramatically change balance, coordination, and confidence.
You’ll learn how to:
✔️ Reduce dizziness and instability
✔️ Fill sensory gaps so the body can actually respond
✔️ Shift neurological focus to decrease fear of falling
✔️ Build progressions that create lasting change
✔️ Improve your own balance along the way

💻 Prefer Zoom? We’ve got you.
You’ll still get real‑time feedback, breakout rooms, and the full learning experience, just without the deep‑dish pizza. 🍕
And yes, everyone gets a lifetime recording, because neuroscience is not a one‑listen situation.

🧠✨ Most “balance exercises” don’t actually train balance, they train strength or stability.
And when the sensory system is the real issue, clients feel it: wobbling, gripping, dizziness, hesitation, and “why is this so hard.”

📢 Research is loud and clear: FEEDBACK is the engine of learning.
Not generic feedback. Not “I’ll get back to you in two weeks” feedback.
Real, personalized, timely feedback that actually changes your teaching. 🔥

That’s exactly why our Neuro Labs exist.

And our next one is coming up March 28–29 in Carmel, California
🕚 11:00 AM – 3:30 PM

🔥 Day 1: Do + Learn (Not Watch + Learn)

You’ll be hands-on with real clients… people with movement challenges, chronic pain, or neurological conditions.

You’ll assess, problem-solve, and implement Neuro Studio techniques with direct, in-the-moment feedback from me. Your peers will be right there too, so you never feel like you’re working alone.

🧠 Day 2: Your Unique Brain–Body

A full day of movement tailored to your skills, patterns, injuries, and nervous system.

We’ll help you find reflexive stability, shift long-held patterns, and embody the work you teach every day.

If you’ve been craving real-time feedback, community, and the kind of hands-on learning that actually sticks, this is your sign to join us in Carmel, CA

But don’t worry, Carmel isn’t your only chance. We have Neuro Labs happening all year long, from New York City to Sydney, Australia. 🌏

Comment “courses” and we’ll send you the full list of 2026 labs and dates so you can plan ahead.

💻 Prefer Online? You’re Still Fully Supported

If you’re not someone who thrives in an in-person environment, you can join via Zoom. You’ll receive direct feedback from in the room and from online, so you’re guided every step of the way, no matter where you are.

At The Neuro Studio, we teach our teachers and clients how to fill sensory gaps so the brain can choose or create a new motor pathway 🧠✨

This client hyperextends her knees because of long‑standing foot drop and reduced sensation from living with MS for 45+ years. While this strategy can help some people on the hypermobility spectrum, those with EDS or HSD often need a different approach—because proprioception isn’t always reliable for them.

That’s why we use our Triangulation Method: not more sensory input, but the right sensory input to fill each person’s unique gaps 👀🦶🧭.

Struggling clients who can’t roll? This drill is a game‑changer, even for those with hemiparesis. 💪

This option helps establish upper‑quadrant stability and strength while giving the brain the sensory clarity it needs to organize rolling more efficiently. 🧠✨

⚠️ Important note:
If your client can’t get into this arm position without increasing spasticity in the hands, elbows, or shoulders, pause here. Start with one of our Neuro Studio spasticity‑management techniques first to create a safer, more responsive environment for the nervous system. 🛑

This exercise works because it integrates sensory information and taps into additional neurological drivers to improve proprioception.
Remember: More movement + more proprioceptive input ≠ better proprioception.
I know… frustrating 😅 but we’re here to tell the truth, not sell the myth.

Try both variations — leading with the upper body and leading with the lower body, and notice which one gives your client better organization. Then once rolling becomes easier, increase the vestibular challenge by adding unusual head positions and maintaining them inside the frame of the arms as you roll. 🤸‍♀️ The vestibular system loves novelty, and this is a safe, powerful way to layer it in. 🎯

And please, let your clients make mistakes. Their “figuring it out” phase is where you gather the most valuable information. While they explore, you step back and assess sensory gaps… not guess based on whatever cool Instagram video is trending that week. 👀

If you’re ready to sharpen your assessment skills and deepen your neuro knowledge, take the quiz in our bio to find out which course is the best fit for you. 📚✨

Did you know your client’s eye mechanics could be throwing off their gait? 👀

Convergence ➡️ the ability of both eyes to move toward each other to focus on a near target, is a critical and often overlooked component of efficient gait.

When someone can’t converge well, they usually compensate by leaning back to create more space between their eyes and whatever they’re trying to focus on. That backward shift changes everything: balance, timing, foot placement, and overall brain safety.

In this video, we’re sharing a simple strategy to improve convergence and giving the body clearer sensory feedback.

It’s not about “trying harder” with the eyes. The goal 🥅 is to provide an environment where the head and spine can stabilize reflexively, so the eyes can do their job without recruiting extra movement.

🔑 A few helpful reminders:

✅ Give your client enough sensory input so they don’t mobilize their spine while converging, but don’t overdo it! MORE It’s just MORE, not better!!!
✅ A wall works beautifully (like you’ll see using), but it is a NO parking zone. We recommend asking your client to focus on not changing the pressure between their butt and the wall!!
✅ Notice how much easier convergence becomes when the body feels grounded and organized. ✨
✅ Better sensory input → better eye control → better gait mechanics. 🚶‍♀️

Now it’s your turn to get curious…. Comment below 👇 other exercises that might be affected by poor convergence or divergence? — we love hearing your insights. 💬

Our Story

Hi. Mariska here. Co-founder of The Neuro Studio. When I was diagnosed with MS in 2002, my doctors never gave me guidelines for exercise other than "don't overdo it." At first, I was extremely hesitant to exercise at all. After a couple of years, though, I started listening to my body and what I felt it wanted to do. So I worked out. Pretty hard. Fairly often.

But, I didn't do specific exercises designed to strengthen existing MS problem areas. I didn't focus on areas that would likely become problems with disease progression or inactivity. I had no road map. No game plan. No one showing me how I could make my workouts work for me and my individual illness. So even though I was exercising, I was still developing issues with walking, muscle spasticity, and balance.

Enter The NeuroStudio.

Meghann Koppele and I developed this resource as the culmination of my experience as a Pilates instructor and neuro patient for more than 15 years and her 17 years of experience as an expert movement trainer for people with neurological diseases and conditions. We were both frustrated by how few resources are available to people with neurological conditions and wanted to find a way to bring our successful methods to everyone at a fraction of the cost.
