Director-at-Large - 2-year term, 1 candidate
Sarah Schremser:

I am honored to submit my candidacy for the ASCLS Missouri Director at Large position. As a dedicated laboratory professional and educator, I am passionate about growing our organization and fostering collaboration within ASCLS-MO. If elected to the Director at Large position, my primary focus will be enhancing member recruitment and engagement, supporting district representatives, and promoting recognition of outstanding ASCLS-MO members. I am excited about the opportunity to serve ASCLS Missouri and work alongside my colleagues to advance our shared goals. Thank you for your support and consideration.

Secretary - 2-year term, 1 candidate
Brenna Ildza:

Laboratory science is complex, confusing, and an essential component of clinical decision making. My career in laboratory science began over 30 years ago, along with my membership in ASCLS and ASCP. I am passionate about the lab and enjoy participating at the local, state, and national levels. Our national and Missouri organizations provide a voice, value, and vision for our profession. I am running for secretary to support the board and members by recording accurate minutes of our business meetings and supporting our state society. I appreciate your support and the opportunity to serve.

Nominations Committee - 1-year term, 3 candidates

Candi Barker:

I am honored to be running for the Nominations Committee of ASCLS-Missouri. As a proud 43-year member of ASCLS, I have had the privilege of serving in many leadership roles, including President. These experiences have deepened my understanding of our organization's mission and the importance of strong leadership in shaping our future. If elected, I will dedicate myself to identifying and fostering new leaders who bring fresh perspectives, innovative ideas, and a strong commitment to advancing ASCLS-Missouri. I would be grateful for your support and the opportunity to serve in this important role.

Minh Kosfeld:

I began my career in laboratory science over 13 years ago and have been an active member of ASCLS for the last 10 years. Thus far, all of my activities to support our professional organization have been on the national level, but I would like to be more involved on the local and state level. I hope to bring my experience as a Chemistry/UA SA chair and BOK committee member to the Nominations Committee if selected.

Amanda Reed:

I have been an MLS since 2008 when I graduated from SLU's MLS program. I have been an active member of ASCP & ASCLS since and SWACM most recently. I previously served on the Board of ASCLS - MO in various positions including Nominations committee, Promotion of the Profession committee chair, state meeting planning committee, and Scientific Assembly chair. I had to step away from the organization for a few years due to increased University workload. However, I am now able to resume my participation in the organization. I believe that my past experience makes me an excellent candidate for the nomination committee.

Happy Lab Week! Use this fun chart to get your bacteria name ๐Ÿ˜‚

Happy Professionals Week! We're starting off our activities with a classic: What is your bacteria name? Take the first three letters of your first name and add the ending that corresponds to the last digit of your birth year. Then take the last three letters of your last name and add the ending that corresponds with your birth month. Ex., Lucy Laboratory (born 08/1992) becomes Lucophilus labalactiae. Share your name in the comments!

About Us

ASCLS-Missouri (ASCLS-MO) is a constituent society of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science. It is also one of five (5) states in Region VI; the others states include Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, and Nebraska. Established in 1949 as the Missouri Society for Medical Technologists (MSMT), ASCLS-MO has been serving the interests of lab professionals for nearly 70 years.

Missouriโ€™s leadership consists of the Board of Directors (President, President-Elect, Past President, Treasurer, Secretary, Executive Secretary, First and Second-Year Board Directors, Student Director, and the First-Year Professional Director), District Representatives, and the various committee chairpersons.

For the purposes of communicating and distributing information, Missouri is divided into five (5) districts: St. Louis, Cape Girardeau/Poplar Bluff, Kansas City, Springfield/Joplin, and Columbia/Jefferson City.

While ASCLS-Missouri has gone through several changes over the years, there is one thing that will always remain constant: our mission of maintaining excellence in the Clinical Laboratory profession by offering continuing education, networking, leadership opportunities, and providing a podium for your voice to be heard.
