HM3 Munger is a Pharmacy Technician assigned to NMRTU Naval Station Norfolk. See how HM3 Munger projects medical power through the US Navy Surgeon General’s 4 Ps (People, Platforms, Performance and Power) in his profile here: https://navymedicine.navylive.dodlive.mil/archives/13346

HM3 (SW) Munger, projected power by deploying as an IA on the USS Harry S. Truman. He successfully managed the daily operations of pharmaceuticals; dispensing for 5,000 crewmembers. He facilitated training on medication classification and usage for 52 Providers and Corpsmen. At NMRTU Norfolk, he upholds medical and physical standards as an ACFL, reinforcing the importance to always be operationally ready to forward deploy. As part of Navy Medical Readiness and Training Unit Norfolk, he leads 14 staff members in dispensing more than 62,000 prescriptions for 242 tenant commands at Naval Station Norfolk; optimizing fleet readiness and warfighting capability.

“Ang biggest challenge po para sa akin ngayon ay ang paghahanap ng mga gamot na kailangan ng ating COVID-19 patients. Yung iba po kasing gamot na kailangan nila, hindi po usual stock ng pharmacy natin, wala po siya sa standard list.

Bilang isa pong frontliner na pharmacist ako po ay nag-aassist sa emergency purchases ng mga gamot para matugunan ang pangangailangan ng ating mga pasyente.

Mahirap po ang kinakaharap nating sitwasyon, at mas nakakalungkot pa nga po na pinili kong hindi umuwi para maprotektahan ang aking pamilya. Isinasaisip ko na lang po na ito po ang dahilan kung bakit ginusto kong magtrabaho sa RITM – gusto ko pong makatulong sa bayan.”
