So proud of Sam.
December’s Alum of the Month is Sam Koplewicz, who was a student leader and mentor at two chapters: The Dalton School and Brown University. Between graduating from Brown University and matriculating at Harvard Law School, Sam spent a year in Zagreb, Croatia as a Fulbright Research Scholar.
Now in his second year, Sam plans to pursue a career in Human Rights advocacy. When asked how Eye to Eye effected his scholastic trajectory, Sam replied, “Emotionally, Eye to Eye helped me own my disability and incorporated it into my identity. But more than make me comfortable with the label of "dyslexic," Eye to Eye solidified my role as an advocate. I started as an advocate for myself and those similarly situated around me but the term “advocate” has become infused in who I am and what I want to do with my life.” Thank you for being an amazing alum, Sam!

It's an exciting week for !
More than 30,000 neuroscientists are gathered in Washington, DC this week for the annual Society for Neuroscience meeting. Amidst the excitement and sheer volume of activity, it’s easy to forget about recent reports that as much as 80% of the science from academic labs, even science published in the best journals, cannot be replicated. Dr. Insel discusses this issue in his latest blog: http://1.usa.gov/1vkBeMS
