Welcome to the new official CDC Health Navigation page for Boom! Health
We're a local nonprofit organization in the South Bronx just a few short blocks from Yankee Stadium! And for moviegoers: we're also very close to the infamous Joker Stairs featured in the movie starring Juaquin Phoenix, nestled between Third Ave and 161st.
My name is Miles Parone and I'm the current CDC health navigator, I provide case management for GBT+ men and mascs between the ages of 18-35. We're in the business of prevention, so our focus is on parts of the community suffering from HIV, though anyone in need of case management is welcome! You do not need to be living with HIV to come in for services.
Our services include but are not limited to:
-Access to medical care, including assistance with enrolling in health insurance, linkage to doctors and clinics, and linkage to pharmacies
-Access to behavioral and mental health services, including social and supportive groups (fun fact, I run an HIV medication adherence support group! Please DM me if you're interested in attending. It's every Friday at 1pm)
-Legal assistance
-Access to food and clothing pantries
-Entitlement assistance, which pertains to help with SNAP, Section 8, and other social welfare programs
-Job training
-And more!
If you're interested, give us a call! We also offer rapid testing for HIV, Hepatitis C, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and Syphilis. We have several groups ranging from education, peer advocacy, and support. At Boom! Health, we want to support you and ensure that you live long, healthy, happy lives. We're completely judgement free and status neutral. I know I can speak for the entire prevention team when I say it'd be an honor and a pleasure to work with you!
