During my last masterclass, I asked the ladies on the call, "IF food had a job in your life, what would it be (outside of nourishment)?

They wrote answers like, it's there to comfort me, it's my friend, it's there when I'm lonely...

The truth is, food was never meant to be emotional or used emotionally. People who have a "normal" relationship with food, enjoy it, and eat when they are hungry. They also know how to stop when they are satisfied.

It doesn't mean they don't ever indulge or eat sugar, it just means that food is a source of nutrition for them, a place they get fuel and sustenance. They don't have to control anything when it comes to what they eat.

Learning how to STOP using food as an emotional crutch is the key to sustainable weight loss. It's the key to end yo-yo dieting and the white-knuckling you do when certain foods are in your house, or the cookies are in the break room.

When you learn to respect and trust yourself, the ice cream won't call your name from the freezer. You'll be able to discern if you really want to eat it, and if it's going to serve you in that moment.

Most women have been taught to outsource their inner knowing when it comes to their body and their weight..

A diet plan, food rules, tracking macros, or an “expert” telling you when to eat, what to avoid, and how their body should respond.

And sadly, over time, that noise gets louder than your own wisdom.

Diet culture trains you to distrust yourself.
It tells you hunger is a problem.
Cravings are a weakness.
And your food and body needs to be controlled.

But your body has always been communicating with you and letting you know what it needs.

Learning to tap into your inner knowing means:
• Listening for hunger instead of overriding it
• Noticing how foods actually make you feel
• Respecting fullness without fear
• Letting curiosity replace judgment

Sustainable weight loss doesn’t come from more rules.
It comes from rebuilding the relationship between you and your body.

When you stop asking,
“What diet should I follow?”
and start asking,
“What do I need right now?”

Everything shifts.

Your body isn’t confused.
It’s been ignored.

And when you learn how to listen again — without shame, pressure, or perfection — food stops being a battle.

Your body knows the way.
You just have to let it lead. 💛

You don't have to punish yourself with exercise to lose weight. Moving your body should feel enjoyable not like a punishment for what you ate.

The key is to find ways of moving that feel good to you, whether that's yoga, walking, strength training, playing a sport, etc. that way you'll feel inspired and empowered to move, not dread it.

This will help you shift your relationship to your body as well. When you move from a place of enjoyment, you will feel more confident. When you feel more confident, you won't feel as challenged by food.

So, instead of approaching exercise as a "Have-to" to lose weight, approach it as a "get-to" to enjoy health and longevity.

Most women don’t struggle with weight because they “lack discipline.”

They struggle because their blood sugar is exhausted from years of dieting.

When you restrict food, skip meals, cut carbs, or try to “be good” all day…
your blood sugar rides a roller coaster.

And blood sugar chaos looks like:
• Intense cravings at night
• Feeling fine… until you’re suddenly ravenous
• Anxiety, irritability, brain fog
• Eating past fullness and wondering what just happened

That’s not a willpower problem.
That’s biology.

Sustained weight loss isn’t about eating less.
It’s about creating safety and steadiness in your body.

Balanced blood sugar tells your nervous system:
“You’re okay. Food is coming. You don’t need to panic.”

And when your body stops panicking,
cravings soften, overeating eases, and food stops feeling so loud.

This is why chronic dieting backfires.
It trains your body to distrust you.

Healing your relationship with food starts with stability, not restriction.
Regular meals. Enough protein. Permission to eat.
And learning how to respond to emotions without swinging between control and chaos.

When you learn how to work with your body, instead of against it—everything changes. 💛

Spending years yo-yo dieting and emotional eating can feel defeating, like there's something wrong with you. But, hear this....there is NOTHING wrong with you.

Diet Culture will have you think otherwise, that you're at fault for not being able to lose weight and keep it off. That's why it's a multi-billion dollar industry. The industry depends on women failing over and over and coming back for the next quick fix.

Even if you do lose weight, keeping it off is the hard part. No one gives you the tools to do that. They tell you that you need to be on a diet for the rest of your life, but that's simply not true.

You must learn how to change your mindset. This is exactly what I teach in my free training, The Weight Loss Solution. I will give you the 3 shifts to overcome emotional eating and yo-yo dieting, so you can take your power back from food today!

comment SOLUTION and I'll send you the training.

If weight loss was only about eating healthy, it would be easy.

Most women KNOW what to eat, but still struggle when it comes to losing weight and keeping it off. Why does it seem so hard?

The real problem has NOTHING to do with food, and everything to do with the way you think.

Dieter's mindset, food rules and restriction all cause a dysfunctional relationship with food, making it hard to keep weight off once it's lost.

Instead of changing your food, take a look at the habits and behaviors you have in place. Ask yourself when they started and what the triggers are. Bringing awareness is the first step to longterm weightloss.

🙇‍♀️ This is for the midlife woman who suffers in silence every time she emotionally eats.

😔 This is for the woman who beats herself up every time she uses food for comfort or distraction.

😔 This is for the woman who experiences the feelings of regret, guilt and shame for breaking her promise to herself (once again) when she eats food she knows she's not hungry for.

😔 This is for the midlife woman who is tired of fighting food and fighting herself.

👉THIS is the 5-Day Food Freedom Series- Learn to Stop Emotional Eating, Overeating and Yo-Yo Dieting Once & For All.

✅ You’ll know how to shift the mental messaging that says, “I’ve already blown it” into something that keeps you steady and in control so that you make choices that serve you, not ones that sabotage you.

✅ You’ll learn my mindshift technique so you'll know how to calm cravings so there's no more promising to “start over on Monday.”

✅ You’ll know how to structure your eating so your blood sugar is stable and the late-night urges aren’t running the show.

And more importantly…

👉 You’ll start to feel what it’s like to be the woman who can sit in front of food and make a calm decision.

👉 The woman who no longer has to live her life on a diet.

👉 The woman who trusts herself.

Emotional eating didn’t appear out of nowhere.

It developed as a response to stress, restriction, and learning to override your body’s signals for years.

When food becomes the most reliable form of relief and distraction,
that’s not a personal failing — it’s adaptation.

And once you understand what you’re adapting to,
change becomes possible without shame or control.

If this resonates, comment ME and I’ll share more about how you can end emotional eating for good.

What if feeling in control around food
didn’t require dieting?

What if indulging didn’t turn into guilt
or a spiral of “starting over”?

Consistency doesn’t come from tighter plans.
It comes from mindset, emotional awareness,
and learning how to respond instead of restricting.

This is a different approach to food—
and for many women, it’s the one that finally works.

If you want to learn more about my transformative approach to end emotional eating, comment FOOD below and I'll share more.

Our Story

Though it was more than 20 years ago that I struggled with my weight, I can still recall the awful feeling of being uncomfortable in my body. It was then that I discovered that diets only work for the short-term. After becoming a personal trainer and getting a Masters degree in nutrition I realized that so much more needs to change than just the food I eat. I truly believe that the only way to achieve sustainable weight loss is to change your habits, behaviors, mindset and your relationship with food and eating. If you've tried every diet out there and you are ready to get off the diet rollercoaster for good, schedule a complimentary call with me HERE-->>www.speakwithlisa.com or email me at lisa@lisagoldbergnutrition.com.
