🌟 A Match Made in Healing Heaven 🌟

Why we LOVE pairing Neurofunctional Acupuncture (electro-acupuncture) with Red Light Therapy / Photobiomodulation 👇

1️⃣ Double-Dose of Nervous-System Support

• Electro-acupuncture gently stimulates peripheral nerves, sending powerful signals to the brain and spinal cord to reset pain pathways and enhance motor control.
• Red light at 630–850 nm penetrates cells, charging up mitochondria to create more ATP—the energy your nerves need to repair and fire optimally.Result: Faster, deeper nervous-system reboot.

2️⃣ Pain Relief from Two Angles

• Needles + micro-current trigger the release of endorphins and dampen inflammatory cytokines.
• Red light reduces oxidative stress and edema while increasing local circulation.Together they calm pain receptors AND speed tissue recovery.

3️⃣ Turbo-Charging Tissue Repair

• Electro-acupuncture encourages microcirculation and collagen synthesis.
• Photobiomodulation boosts fibroblast activity, angiogenesis, and cellular energy.

Combo = stronger, more resilient muscles, tendons, and ligaments in less time.

4️⃣ Less Medication, More Movement

By converging these drug-free modalities, many clients experience fewer flare-ups, reduced reliance on pain meds, and a quicker return to the activities they love.

5️⃣ Brain & Mood Benefits

• Neurofunctional acupuncture modulates the limbic system and vagus nerve, easing stress and improving sleep.
• Red light on the skull (transcranial PBM) increases cerebral blood flow and neurotrophic factors linked to sharper cognition and better mood.Synergy that lifts both body and mind!

🚀 The Bottom Line

Electro-acupuncture acts like “software” that rewrites faulty signals; red light therapy is the “battery charger” that powers the hardware.

When we run them together, your body gets the code AND the energy to heal—faster, safer, smarter.

Open Appointments THIS WEEK!

Good news — Tara and Susan have open acupuncture slots open this week (11/4–11/8)! Grab yours now — and if appointments fill up before you log on, add your name to the waitlist, specify your availability, and we’ll work hard to get you booked.

Quick reminder: we are no longer in-network with UHC. We can still submit claims to UHC on your behalf as an out-of-network (OON) provider, so if you have OON benefits, we can pursue reimbursement for you. Unsure about your coverage? Email me at tara@genwellacupuncture.com and our billing person will check benefits for you.

NYSHIP patients: have you met your OON deductible? If so, your acupuncture benefits should be active — most plans cover up to 20 OON acupuncture treatments per year. Don’t let those go to waste! Not sure if you’ve met your deductible? Send an email and we’ll verify for you.

Reminder: acupuncture treatments are FSA- and HSA-eligible. FSA funds must be used by year-end, so plan accordingly.

Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Acupuncture for Pain

Since 2018 I have been providing neurofunctional acupuncture care for those of my patients suffering from both chronic pain and acute pain. From low back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, ankle sprain, even headaches and migraines, I am able to use very thin acupuncture needles and mild stimulation to increase blood perfusion within the muscles of these areas. A byproduct of this process is pain reduction.

Patients frequently ask me how many treatments it will take to eliminate the pain all together. This is a difficult question to answer, because it depends on numerous variables, some of which are impossible to quantify. I make no promises, though I will say, more often then not, patients leave my office after their first treatment feeling significantly better than when they walked in.
