👋🏽 Hi, March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month. If you are 45 years old or older, check with your doctor to see if you need to be screened. Keep in mind that screening is important for early detection, evaluation, and treatment, especially because early on, you may have no symptoms at all. So DON’T wait to have symptoms before you decide to get checked out.

Mindful eating reminds us to notice hunger cues, cravings, and other feelings when we eat. This way we can slow down, engage our senses, truly appreciate our meals, and consider how certain foods make us feel after eating. Mindful eating is the first step towards healthy eating and making wiser food choices👏🏽. Benefits of mindful eating include better digestion, healthy weight management, a better relationship with food, and a greater enjoyment with our meals. So try this with me, The Mindful Eating Challenge.
Today, make one meal a mindful experience 💪🏽. With one meal today,
1. Let’s take our time eating, engage our senses (by noticing not only the smell and taste, but the colors, the texture).
2. Listen to our bodies, recognizing true hunger signals and stopping when comfortably full
3. Let’s appreciate our food by acknowledging the effort involved in bringing it from the farm to our tables.
