Happy Kwanzaa: HABARI GANI: Today is Day 6: Kuumba: Creativity
This Kwanzaa principle encourages us to always do all we can to leave our communities more beautiful and beneficial than we met it. In honor of Kuumba, we light the third/last red candle on the kinara today💪🏽

Another great DPA testing event in the books! A special shout out to all those who attended. We want to especially recognize our wisest and most golden member of our group, Miss Veronica Robley. She just celebrated her 91st birthday, but guess what, her biological age, the age of her cardiovascular system is like that of 45 year old. 🎉🥳🙌🏽
DPA testing is a great step towards being proactive when it comes to your health and wellness.😊 Want to find out if you have the early signs of blockage/plaque build up in your arteries? Want to find out how young your heart/cardiovascular system is? Be sure to reach out to schedule an appointment.
And you know our events are never complete unless a little line dancing is involved🤗💃🏽🕺🏽

December is Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) Awareness Month. SAD is a form of depression that typically occurs during the fall and winter months and is linked to reduced sunlight. Symptoms may include overall sadness, loss of energy, and changes in sleep/appetite. The good news 👏🏽🙌🏽🥳…it usually gets better during the spring months and it is 100% manageable with a combination of things (getting more sunlight when possible, light therapy, proper nutrition, especially making sure to include Vitamin D rich foods in your diet/taking a nutrition supplement if necessary, increasing activity, maintaining strong/healthy social connections, talk therapy with a licensed professional/ health care provider, and prescription medication when necessary). The first step, however is awareness. If you think you may be challenged with SAD,
consult your physician/healthcare provider right away to determine the best approach for you and to rule out other potential conditions. And oh by the way, make sure to stay connected with me so you don’t miss any more useful wellness tips🤗

November is Diabetes Awareness Month💙
Myth: If you feel fine, you don’t need testing.
Truth: Diabetes can be silent for years; fatigue may be the only sign.

In honor of diabetes awareness month, know your numbers (weight, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, hemoglobin a1c)

Snacking throughout the day can help maintain energy levels and prevent unhealthy cravings. But it can be challenging to find healthy snacking options. ROASTED CHESTNUTS 🌰…one of my favorite snacks👏🏽. They are rich in fiber, relatively low in carbs, and are a good source of magnesium, potassium, B vitamins and antioxidants, including Vitamin C. So the next time you are looking for a healthy snack give them a try
