Okay SO. Last week I roasted a whole chicken in the oven. I wanted to smear butter on it before putting it in the oven however the butter wouldn’t stick to the chicken at all. It was sliding right off. I patted the chicken completely dry and I made my butter pretty soft. It still wouldn’t stick. I ended up just shoving it underneath the skin. I’m gonna make another one this week but I’d really like the butter smeared on the outside of the chicken this time. What did I do wrong last week?

Chinese Chicken Cabbage Stir Fry
Ingredients:

• 2 chicken breasts, thinly sliced

• 2 cups cabbage, chopped

• 1 bell pepper, sliced

• 1 carrot, julienned

• 1 small onion, chopped

• 2 green onions, sliced

• 2 tbsp soy sauce

• 1 tbsp sesame oil (or olive oil)

• 1 tsp garlic, minced

• 1 tsp ginger, grated (optional)

• Sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions:

1. Heat sesame oil in a pan or wok.

2. Add chicken and cook until browned and cooked through.

3. Add garlic, ginger, onions, and carrots. Stir-fry 2–3 minutes.

4. Add cabbage and bell pepper. Stir-fry until veggies are slightly tender but crisp.

5. Pour in soy sauce, toss everything well, and cook 2 more minutes.

6. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot.

Nutrition per serving (approx, makes 3 servings):
