If you are struggling with anxiety or depression, or have come to a crossroad in life where you are feeling troubled or unclear, therapy can be an anchor to help you slow down, reassess and refocus. While the benefits are clear, the decision to pursue psychotherapy, and the effort involved in finding the right therapist and making that first appointment can be intimidating. Our primary goal is to

provide a safe, empathetic, and warm environment to encourage personal exploration and growth. Our clinicians help clients find relief from life's challenges related to anxiety, depression, transitions, relationships and work-related stress. Everyone entering psychotherapy comes from a unique walk of life. Together, we can identify your specific goals and create a treatment plan that addresses your areas of need. We also offer comprehensive psychological and neuropsychological testing for children, adolescents and adults. Common reasons forevaluation include testing for emotional, behavioral or academic difficulties; the presence of learning disabilities or Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity disorders; and to gain a better understanding of intellectual functioning and personality.

Anxiety doesn’t just show up as feeling.
It shapes how we things.
It can turn uncertainty, silence into rejection, and small problems into something overwhelming.
The goal isn’t to stop anxiety completely.
It’s to recognize when it might be influencing your interpretation — and give yourself and give yourself a moment before you respond.

Sometimes we manage anxiety by trying to take control. Over-researching. Rigid plans. Needing certainty before starting. Feeling thrown when things change. But avoiding anxiety doesn’t mean it’s gone. It just means we’re learning that not being in control feels unsafe. And over time, that can make uncertainty feel even harder to sit with.

There are certain reminders we find ourselves sharing with clients again and again.
Not because the ideas are new, but because they’re easy to forget when you’re overwhelmed, stressed, or stuck in old patterns.
Here are 5 mental health reminders that Yulgeim Gomez, LMHC often shares with clients.

A lot of people come into therapy convinced something is “wrong” with them.
Often, what we discover instead is a person who learned to survive environments, expectations, or experiences that required them to be hyper-aware, self-critical, or constantly adapting.
Those patterns didn’t appear out of nowhere.
They were built for a reason.
Therapy isn’t always about fixing who you are.
Sometimes it’s about understanding how you learned to be this way — and deciding what you want to carry forward and what you’re ready to release.
You are not a problem to solve.
