Mamma Mia Doula Birth doula providing support for women in northern New Jersey and New York City. Birth and postpart Birth and Postpartum Doula in Bergen County, New Jersey.

I support families planning births in Bergen, Hudson, Passaic, Essex, Rockland, and Morris counties, as well as Manhattan. With specialized training in childbirth education, VBAC, lactation, and optimal fetal positioning, I offer information and support so that you can make the choices that are right for you, knowing that I'll be with you, every step of the way. As part of my doula services, I wil

l meet with you during your pregnancy to discuss your experiences with pregnancy, questions or concerns, and hopes and plans for this birth. You also will have access to my constantly expanding lending library. I will provide continuous support throughout your labor and birth, and until you and your baby are settled in. I will visit you 1-2 weeks later to discuss the birth, your experiences as a new parent, and any concerns you may have. While I am trained to support any woman during labor, I am especially qualified in helping women who plan on a VBAC. As a Certified Lamaze Childbirth Educator, I offer private childbirth classes that can be catered to your specific needs and schedule. We cover all the basics of pregnancy, birth and the immediate postpartum, as well as concerns that may be pertinent to you given your health or provider situation. You can go on to give birth with confidence, knowing you have the information and support you need. As a postpartum doula, I can come to your home after you welcome your baby home and assist with processing your birth experience, recovery, newborn care, breastfeeding, so that those first few weeks can be spent THRIVING and not just surviving! As a Certified Lactation Counselor, I provide lactation support in the form of either prenatal breastfeeding classes or postpartum information and support. Classes or one-on-one consultations can be arranged according to your schedule and needs.

***Discount for combining services***

I also offer bereavement care for loss in any trimester or stage of development. Although no one can make the loss of a child easy, I will do everything I can to make it easier, to guide you in those hard decisions, and most of all, to walk by your side on your journey of bringing your baby into this world, and support you as you let them go. There is no fee for bereavement services, goodwill offering only.

Family dogs are family.

The old dog loved our family well for so many years. Saying goodbye to pets is a hard loss because these animals steal our hearts.

For most, vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) carries lower risks than a repeat cesarean.

Every pregnancy is different and it is important to evaluate your situation carefully with a trusted healthcare provider.

Often when discussing a VBAC, uterine rupture is a specific risk mentioned. Uterine rupture occurs when there is a separation of the uterine wall. Having your uterus rupture can be life-threatening and serious, however, the risk of uterine rupture occurring is very rare, affecting less than 1% of those laboring after cesarean with a low transverse incision.

It is important for a birthing person to be well-educated and informed before making the choice to VBAC or to have a repeat cesarean.
