Alexander Technique in New York City

Alexander Technique in New York City Alexander Technique on the Upper East Side. Naturally improve health. Alleviate back and neck pain, improve posture and stress reduction.

For several years I suffered from severe neck pain, originally caused by a scuba-diving accident and further exacerbated by poor "posture." Despite seeking a cure from physical therapy, chiropractic therapy, yoga and other therapies, the pain steadily grew worse until finally I was taking a lot of painkillers and wearing a neck-brace. It was at this low point that I turned to the Alexander Techniq

ue. Through the help of good teachers, I realized that though the accident may have triggered the neck pain, I alone was responsible for the recurrent pain: By not knowing how to efficiently move my body, I was continually hurting myself. This realization began the healing process and soon I was able to get rid of the neck-brace and the painkillers. I have taught the Alexander Technique to acting students at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In addition, I was an assistant teacher of Alexander Technique trainees at a course in New York City and worked in a private (osteopath's) clinic. I am a member of four professional societies: Back Care Professionals, Theater Communications Group, American Society for the Alexander Technique and the British Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique
During the past four years: I have been an assistant Alexander Technique teacher for drama students at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts and Arts Education of London (2009); organized and run the Student Network of Alexander Trainees in the UK (2007-09).

What I enjoyed most in "Wolf Hall Pt.1" (and I enjoyed many things) was watching the stark shadow of Thomas Cromwell on the wall.

The hope is that if I treat marketing as a courtesy to clients, as opposed to an obligation, it will be more palatable. Perhaps it's both.

Troll contemplating rock (last weekend upstate). Or a very poor ad for the Alexander Technique! http://t.co/TDUlSNvrsw

Received weighty tome, A History of Art, from Tai-Chi teacher (she's moving) Read intro on the train. Heavy, yes, but also light and lively.

There's something not altogether pleasant about coming out of a cold: Responsibility looms.

Could have watched all day, the man sweeping his walk under the increasing snowfall with futile and graceful strokes.

At organic shore, heard manager talk to employees about 'cage-raised tilapia,' though he allowed this might not be the best marketing.

When an inanimate object disappoints you, you have every right to vilify it.

The bright side of doing copyediting work is that my attention to detail ought to improve.
