When a woman runs with wild determination...
https://www.facebook.com/share/p/19VtvKAd24/

At 3:30 in the morning, while most people were still fast asleep, Tara Dower tied her shoes and set off on a run.
She repeated this ritual every day for 40 consecutive days.
Her path took her through mist-covered forests, along rugged ridgelines, and across 14 different states.

In total, she covered 2,168 miles on the legendary Appalachian Trail one of the most challenging long-distance routes in the world.

Tara isn’t a household name. She’s a 31-year-old from Virginia who has now become one of the fastest women ever to complete the trail, finishing in 40 days, 18 hours, and 5 minutes.
That meant averaging 54 miles a day and spending nearly 17 hours each day running and hiking.

Her fuel? Quick meals, relentless determination, and brief “dirt naps” that sometimes lasted less than two minutes.
Over the course of her journey, she climbed a total elevation gain equal to 16 ascents of Mount Everest.

She battled heat, exhaustion, and unforgiving terrain.
But her motivation wasn’t about chasing records.

Tara ran to support Girls on the Run, a nonprofit dedicated to helping girls build confidence, resilience, and community through sport.
“I hope more women take on challenges like this,” she said.
“It’s not about competing against men it’s about discovering what we’re capable of. And if we do happen to beat the men, that’s just a bonus.”

When she finally reached the northern end of the trail and placed her hand on the bronze plaque at Katahdin, she sank to her knees overwhelmed not just by exhaustion, but by joy, purpose, and a profound sense of completion.

Tara didn’t just complete a trail she created one for others to follow.

And after 17 years we realize it's not about a single day.... love...marriage...isn't a sprint or a big event, its a marathon, its every day, renewing vows, growing together, weathering the storm & laughing in the sun. Its the simple things of enjoying music together, dancing in our living room, familiar rituals, things that make us giggle & finish each others sentences, spending time with our kids, grandkids and our lil dachshund Liza... that's 15 now.

And it's the challenging things, being vulnerable to each other, sensitive, finding ourselves once again in patterns of miscommunication, being human, slowing down to listen, be gentle, breathe, care.

So we've been reflecting & celebrating the of our court ceremony for a few days

Wed Billy made us dinner & we had romantic night home.

Thursday we went to NJ to receive a blessing from spiritual teacher Amma Sri Karunamayi on her North America tour from India.

Friday we had dinner with our son.

This morning we went to 🧘🏻‍♀️ class in the park by . And then all of us had delicious dosas from ! 🙏🥰

Tonight we're listening to records.🎶

Next month we'll celebrate our family wedding anniversary...we had 3 ceremonies.

Like I said, love doesn't happen in a day. 💞

Check your soaps lotions & shampoos for formaldehyde & throw them out bc it causes cancer

They hide it and preservatives that release formaldehyde under chemical names in ingredient list. i.e DMDM hydantoin, short for 1,3-dimethylol-5,5-dimethylhydantoin.

I'll look up more about this and how you can identify them and post in comments.

Free your body from harmful ingredients and pressure from society to 'look beautiful'. Say yes to self care and self love. True beauty is a woman that feels free and at home in her body.....and doesn't need validation or approval from the world to know she is a miraculous living creation of nature.

Soaps, lotions and shampoos were found to have formaldehyde and formaldehyde-releasing preservatives.

A Plea to My Canadian Brothers and Sisters

Dear Brave Souls,

I need the help of my Canadian brothers and sisters. I've prepared op-eds for newspapers in several Canadian locations:
the Maritimes,
Prince Edward Island,
Quebec,
Ontario,
British Columbia,
Alberta,
Vancouver Island, and what was once called
Northwest Territories.

My ties to Canada run deep, from childhood to adulthood. I have cherished memories of crawling on my hands and knees during the "long walk" to worship at St. Anne de Beaupré shrine in Quebec at ten years old. I remember the beautiful French-speaking people, so compassionate and helpful, guiding me through the cold and dark.

From Prince Edward Island, came a miraculous solace and "resurrection instructions" in a discarded book by L.M. Montgomery. As a child in a tiny village in the upper Midwest of 600 people with no books at home for most of my people could not read nor write, that book, rescued from the neighbor's battered metal trash can, offered first glimpse that somewhere, somehow there were souls like myself who didnt fit anywhere, and yet maybe fit perfectly in good ways.

I fished with good souls who were First Nations people in Northwest Canada, cleaning fish at dusk, our bodies covered in iridescent scales. We laughed and sang together during the twice-yearly fishing hunts, stocking ice houses for the winter. It was a time of sharing and community, where everyone had so little, but in sharing with one another, everyone had enough.

Ontario holds top tier in my diamond dust heart. After World War II, my father searched tirelessly and found 17 remaining people from his tiny Hungarian village of 150 souls. The armies had murdered so many. He saved and borrowed money to buy passage and give shelter to each one to the USA and for years after arrival, they all came to live with us in our 1 bathroom, two bedroom house in the backwoods. But suddenly the USA strangled immigration quotas so no one else after Dad had brought 15 --could come to USA. Guess what? Beautiful Canada My Canada opened its arms to my father's war-torn loved ones. ¡Canada, now and forever, and always! Canada took the war torn in. I will never, ever forget.

There is more connection including my connection to Canada extending to book signings and "girl gang" tours across the Canadian country. Through these travels, I've met thousands of beautiful, kind, and wondrous Canadian brothers and sisters.

I've encountered more holy, darling, humor-filled, and generous people in a single evening across Canada than anyone could imagine. True souls. Deep souls. Angelically kind souls.

The points in my newspaper articles which I hope will be published in Canada, are to push back HARD against the swaggering going on by some of the blow-fish and lamprey eels elected to high office in the USA--- their nonsensical and circular firing squad words and acts do NOT go down here in the USA—

millions of United Statesians revere Canada and Canadians for many reasons, many many shared stories of bravery, common sense and kindly engagements over decades. There is no perfect nation and ours and others, as well as Canada, all have their penances to continue making. And we are and will continue.

But let us not add one more damn thing to be sorry for. Meaning to not go silent and hope for the best.

By moving and speaking loudly now. By organizing and acting now, in effective and firm and humor-filled ways too, we can prevail. That is my message. And I have put the specifics of how to in the articles, esp to cleanse oneself of fear, hatred, and put on the righteous robes that are soft and yet woven of unassailable and firm resolve.

The topic of the writing [each a bit different because of the memories attached to those parts of Canada] is that WE STAND WITH, FOR AND SHOULDER TO SHOULDER WITH OUR BROTHER and SISTER CANADIANS. We will, as we ever have, fight against indecency and at the same time, fight like hell for good, and better and best.

Let me know particularly if you know anyone in editorial I can address my article to by email. It is imperative that Canadians know we will not let greed-besotted, predatory people speak for us. We are. Together

Tribe of the Sacred Heart, many of us Scar Clan

No lack of love, ever,
dr. e

in my research these were perhaps some of the leads I thought might work for sending the article to, one of a kind to each? But am not sure of the values of each. I tried to read some, but have low vision and bad cataracts and try to save my time for writing, till I have to rest my eyes.... maybe you can tell me which ones would be best for my thoughts for our good Canadian people.

I found these
Quebec, maybe Montreal Gazette
BC maybe VAncouver Sun
VC Island maybe Victoria Times Colonist
[please let me know if you can]

Sometimes you have to break things down to start anew. So happy to finally have my office fixed.

Had it taped it over for years because we couldn't find anyone who works with these kind of old windows. And now it is clear and fixed. Thank you Jesus Andrade for being a true craftsman that takes pride in their work.

Similarly old habits, beliefs, painful patterns need caring attention so you can feel safe & supported to let them go and open to self care and the joy of living. I'm here if you'd like to talk about how & wild woman healing can help you feel at home, safe & free in your body & life.

Kiana
