Grand Opening of the Lotus Ranch – Commerce, Georgia, USA

On Sunday, August 17, on a hot and bright summer day, we attended the grand opening of the Lotus Ranch - Yoga & Wellness Retreat Center. The center is home of Om Deep Maheshwarananda Ashram and Yoga in Daily Life, and it is situated in the picturesque outskirts of small town Commerce in the city of Jackson County, 70 miles northeast of Atlanta.

The Lotus Ranch is a “dream come true” for Kailash and Dinesh Purohit, long-time devotees and supporters of Vishwaguruji’s work. Kailash’s great-grandparents and grandparents were disciples of Mahabrabhuji from the village Genderi in District Pali. We can read about the experience of Kailash's grandmother in a story “Srimati Radhadeviji’s Miracle” in Lila Amrit. As a child Kailash attended Mahaprabhuji’s satsangs, receiving his blessings in person.

The opening ceremony was attended by many members of the local Indian community, business and government officials, yoga practitioners, the extended Purohit family, and Swami Prempuja Puri, who teaches at Yoga in Daily Life in Buford, Atlanta. Also in attendance were Dayapuri and Kripadevi from New York, and Sanjivani from Washington, D.C., representing the wider Yoga in Daily Life community in the United States. The event was also covered by South Asia TV.

The program began with a traditional offering ceremony led by a local pandit. This was followed by an opening program with remarks from the hosts, local officials and community members. Afterward, guests enjoyed a delicious lunch, and the day concluded with the planting of a white magnolia tree in front of the Lotus Ranch.

The Lotus Ranch -Yoga and Wellness facility includes many residential units, two yoga halls, meditation room, and Shiv Mandir. Surrounded by rolling meadows and natural walking trails, it provides a tranquil space for yoga retreats, wellness programs, and gatherings of the wider Yoga in Daily Life community.

Congratulations to the Purohit family, with heartfelt wishes and blessings for their future service in yoga. May this special place bring health, peace, and harmony of body, mind, and soul to all who come here to learn and practice yoga.

It means that you have been given the obligation to do something for the good of all; to protect all beings, the environment and humanity; to serve them by helping them to solve their problems."

✨Happy Diwali✨
✨Diwali, also known as Deepavali, is widely recognized as the Festival of Lights. The term Deepavali literally translates to "a row of oil lamps" (diyas or deepaks).
✨This celebration holds profound significance, symbolizing the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair.
✨Spanning five days and culminating on the new moon day, Amavasya, Diwali is a festive occasion that carries deep cultural and spiritual meaning.
✨In the Treta Yuga, God Rama, a symbol of virtues and innate goodness, returned to his kingdom in Ayodhya on Diwali with his wife Sita and brother Lakshmana after defeating the demon king Ravana. To welcome them, the citizens of Ayodhya decorated the city with flower garlands, strewed petals on the streets and illuminated their houses with oil lamps.
✨Diwali is also closely associated with the worship of Goddess Lakshmi, the harbinger of prosperity, and God Ganesha, the deity of wisdom and the remover of obstacles. Consequently, rituals such as Lakshmi Puja, Lakshmi-Ganesh Puja, and Diwali Puja are performed during this auspicious festival.
✨Overall, Diwali stands as a radiant celebration, resonating with cultural, spiritual, and historical significance, holding the eternal themes of light, knowledge, goodness, and hope.
