Do you wear hearing aids? 🦻

Here’s what we tell patients after they are fit with hearing aids for the first time:

1️⃣ Start out wearing your hearing aids in quiet environments or at home to help get used to extra sounds before heading out to a party or restaurant setting.

2️⃣ Take breaks in the beginning if you need to! If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all of the sounds you’re suddenly hearing, take a break from your hearing aids. You can work up to full-time hearing aid use over the span of a few weeks.

3️⃣ Make sure you go to your follow-up appointments! Hearing aids are not a one size fits all solution. Many people need some tweaking to their initial hearing aid programming after a few weeks of getting used to how the hearing aids sound.

Audio Help Hearing Centers wants to thank Jonathan Hutcherson and his two brothers for helping to raise awareness of the need for hearing help. The Santa Run took four days, and they ran 112 miles from Santa Monica to Santa Barbara. All in all, they raised $11,890 for Hearing the Call. Thank you to everyone who donated. One of my favorite moments on the job is when patients turn on their hearing aids for the first time. They glance around in disbelief, suddenly able to hear all the sounds they had been missing. Some shed tears of joy or sigh with relief.

They can finally relax and listen without effort.
