How do you prepare to go back to school? 💻🎒🏫

Hear from Liana, a current college student at the University of California San Diego, about how she gets ready for a new semester:

“I created a mood board for my desktop to remind myself of my goals and things that make me happy. I also want to get in the habit of doing work with natural light to keep me awake and motivated.

Lately, I have been walking outside more and cooking healthy meals that will keep me full and energized. I want to continue all these habits once school starts.”

How do you prepare to go back to school? 💻🎒🏫

Hear from Saige, a current college student at the University of Tennessee, about how she gets ready for a new semester:

“To get prepared for the school year, my best practice is to spend time balancing my personal calendar with my academic calendar.

Hitting the gym also helps get me back in the groove of routine and stability to better focus my brain.

To end my summer, I’m soaking up as much sunshine as possible and enjoying these last moments!”

How do you prepare for a smooth transition into a new semester? 💻🎒🏫

Hear from Saige, an incoming senior at the University of Tennessee, on how she sets herself up for success:

“To prepare to enter my fall semester of college, I get myself organized, spend time outside, and delegate my time. Planning out my day ensures that I transition smoothly from summer to the new school year.

However, it’s still important to enjoy the rest of the summer – taking breaks is necessary. I soak up the sunshine and enjoy the outdoors as much as possible, especially considering we spend so much time on our screens during the semester!”

How do you prepare for a smooth transition into a new semester? 💻🎒🏫

Hear from Nicole, an incoming senior at the University of Florida, on how she sets herself up for success:

“As an incoming senior, I’ve had to learn how to dive into a new semester without feeling overwhelmed.

The goal I have with each new semester is the same – to organize my academic, extracurricular, and social life into a good balance as quickly as possible.

This semester, I plan to do this by putting all my assignments, exams, and appointments into my calendar right away. This way, I will be able to find my groove early on and I’ll be able to block out time for other activities, like a weekend getaway with friends or a new extracurricular.” 🗓️✍🏻

Summer internships offer invaluable hands-on experience, networking opportunities, and a glimpse into your future career. They’re the perfect way to apply classroom knowledge in the real world! 📚💼💻

Hear from Mikayla, a Business Management student at the University of Arizona:

“This summer I will be participating in Pearson’s Sales and Marketing Internship program. As recommended, I am reading a book about sales to prepare for the program.

Throughout the 6 weeks, I will be immersed in the sales and marketing operations at Pearson, which will provide me with valuable experience for my future career in the business world.

Not only will I be working remotely with a team of 5 other interns, but I will also have the opportunity to fly to New York to meet with Pearson professionals, which is an excellent networking opportunity!”

Are you using your summer break to prepare for an admissions test like the MCAT or LSAT? 📘💻

Nicole, a current college student at the University of Florida, is spending her summer studying for the MCAT and working as a research assistant. She shares some of her study tips below:

“It’s important to ensure I have plenty of time to focus on studying for this test, since it is crucial to my goal of going to medical school.

In addition to studying, I will also be working in a research lab, to gain hands-on experience and enhance my scientific knowledge.

If you are looking to do something similar during your college career, my advice would be to make a plan and stick to a routine early on. Make sure you are maximizing your time.

That being said, it’s important to build in time for breaks so you can also do other fun things during your summer!” ☀️

What are your on-the-go campus essentials?🎒

Ayden, a Junior studying finance at the University of Delaware, shares his below:

“Throughout my semester, there are a few things that I simply can’t live without on campus. My water bottle is key to making sure I am hydrated throughout the day, which is made easy with the plethora of bottle filling stations around campus.

My backpack which I have had for about 5 years is another key to living on campus, especially when not returning home for hours.

My headphones help me stay motivated when I go to the gym or study by allowing me to listen to my favorite music.

I also carry my 2 in 1 laptop for optimal notetaking, whether I need to type or draw using the included pen.”

Happy February! To celebrate the month of love, we will be highlighting some of our Pearson Campus Ambassadors from around the country, asking them: What do you love about your college experience?

Here’s what Jalyn, a PCA at Spelman College, has to say:

“The sisterhood at Spelman College is so special, and I am so blessed to have met so many wonderful people in college. I also love how Spelman places an emphasis on academics. I have gained so many resources as a STEM major, including a three-year research program. The college has a rich history and so many traditions that I love being part of, including the big convocation we have on Founders Day each year.

I absolutely love everything about my institution and my experience in undergrad and I cannot wait to join the wonderful network of alumnae!”

Happy February! To celebrate the month of love, we will be highlighting some of our Pearson Campus Ambassadors from around the country, asking them: What do you love about your college experience?

Here’s what Max, a PCA at the University of California Riverside, has to say: “Hello! I’m an undergraduate of psychology. My favorite part of the college experience is independence. As an unaware freshman, I didn’t realize the toll of being able to do whatever I wanted. College has made me reexamine the definition of “freedom” and helped me define my identity. Going to the gym, making virtual friends, competing in statewide tournaments, cooking my own meals, paying bills, traveling, and learning along the way what “a healthy you” truly means. Throughout this adventure, I have had countless problems, but my ability to adapt and overcome them has made me become more resilient than ever. I am now ready for anything.”
