The Evolutionary Roots of Attachment - I've been thinking about how our brains are wired, and from an evolutionary standpoint, it makes a lot of sense. Our early ancestors lived in small, tight-knit communities where social bonds were crucial for survival. The loss of any community member, even a difficult one, was a threat to the group's stability. Because of this, our brains developed really strong attachment systems that make us resist permanent disconnection, even when, rationally, it might seem like the best option. It's a powerful reminder of how deeply ingrained our need for connection is. Have you ever felt that pull to maintain a connection, even when your head tells you otherwise?
