Random Facts about Autism

🧑 According to the latest CDC reports (released in 2025/2026),
approximately 1 in 31 children (or 3.2%) in the United States is identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a notable increase from the 1 in 36 rate reported just a few years ago

🩷 Early identification has improved significantly. While the median age of diagnosis is roughly 4 years old, ASD can often be reliably detected as early as 18 months.

πŸ’š Historically, boys were diagnosed 4 to 5 times more often than girls. Current data shows the ratio is closer to 3.5 to 1.

❀️ β€œspectrum” isn’t a linear line from β€œlow” to β€œhigh” functioning. Instead, it is often described like a color wheel or a dashboard of traits

πŸ’œ Most autistic individuals experience the world differently through their senses.

πŸ’› School Graduation Rates are Improving
Success looks different for everyone, but educational outcomes are trending upward. Approximately 74% of students with autism now graduate from high school
