Don’t let schools tell you otherwise!

Yes, we know textbooks are online but some students need a physical book to have where they can make notes or highlight key factors for their assignments and exams.

Learning Ally is a wonderful tool to convert any written form into an audio file. For instance, if a student is reading a chapter book and needs to answer questions, they can read the book with their eyes but also listen to it.

Doing so supports a multi sensory approaches to learning. This is a huge help for students who have learning disabilities, ADHD and/or reading comprehension difficulties.

This is one of the questions that I answer almost daily.

It can be hard for families to understand that in order to be eligible for a primary or secondary school eligibility for an IEP, there needs to be sufficient information which shows that the student affected educationally, social-emotionally and/or with independent functioning.

Grades do not = a need for an IEP.

There are ways to initiate a request for a comprehensive evaluation by the student study team at the child’s school.

I find this disturbing. Opinions? I respect teachers and am a daughter of mine. For this purpose I am looking at our kiddos with disorganization, inattentive, distracted, etc.
