NYU Langone hospitals received an “A” grade in patient safety from The Leapfrog Group, joining just one percent of hospitals nationwide to receive this distinction 11 times consecutively.

The “A” rating applies to our Tisch Hospital and Kimmel Pavilion in Manhattan, NYU Langone Hospital - Long Island, and NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn. Additionally, NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk advanced from a "C" to a "B" Leapfrog grade just eight months after completing its merger with the health system.

Just over a year after his double lung transplant, Craig Kanarick of Cobble Hill completed ‘The Great Saunter,’ a 32-mile walk around the perimeter of Manhattan, cheered on by his pulmonary rehabilitation team at NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn.

“I remember crossing that finish line and realizing, ‘Wow, I truly pulled off something remarkable,’” Craig recalls. After his double lung transplant by cardiothoracic surgeons Dr. Justin Chan and Dr. Stephanie Chang in March 2024, he set his sights on completing the walk during rehab.

We recently welcomed Congressman Dan Goldman, Assembly Member Marcela Mitaynes, and staffers from across federal, state, and city government to NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn for an open house to showcase how we're working to expand access to high-quality care in Brooklyn.

Hosted by Dr. Bret Rudy, executive vice president and chief of hospital operations, the gathering offered a meaningful opportunity to strengthen partnerships and provide attendees insights into key services, departmental capabilities, and the policy challenges shaping healthcare delivery in the borough.
