Great discussion on trauma. Have a listen!

“When we’re talking about trauma, when we’re talking about historical trauma, intergenerational trauma, persistent institutional trauma, and personal traumas — whether that be childhood, adolescence, or adulthood — those things, when they are left constricted, you begin to be shaped around the constriction. And it is wordless. Time decontextualizes trauma.“

The therapist and trauma specialist with old wisdom and very new science about our bodies and nervous systems, and all we condense into the word “race.”

I have been trying to use this time for stillness. sitting with my thoughts and paying attention to areas that might need some healing. These past few days I have been thinking a lot about compassion and empathy.
"Other people have it worse, be grateful" has become a mantra for myself and many. Why are we withholding compassion for ourselves.? Shouldn't there be space for all our feelings to be acknowledged? I have been working on ways to shift this narrative and am so happy I came across this talk by Brene Brown discussing comparative suffering. Very eye opening and always insightful. Have a listen!

We have collectively hit weary. This is especially true for the brave folks on the front lines of this pandemic and for the people who love and support them. And, it’s also true for all of us.

In these strange and uncertain times some people might be feeling panicked, anxious and perhaps loosing some faith. I know when I feel that way, the thing that helps the most is feeling a sense of community. A feeling that we are all in this together helping one another pass through this time. Let’s make sure no one feels alone right now and please share the toilet paper. 📷 Capri | 2019

In ancient times the winter solstice was the new year celebration. The sun takes a rest so it may rise stronger with every coming day. A death and a rebirth. A time to let go and plant new seeds. Lucky for me this day coincides with my birthday.(the photo is from my First birthday🥳) This year I am ready to shed the old skin. Old belief systems and focus on the light that’s coming. Thank you for all the warm wishes and making my life full of light tonight and every night ❤️💫🌟

In the age of social media we are sold daily images of what our bodies should be. Sometimes we need a little reminder to just say thank you and not judge ourselves so harshly.

This post solstice, new moon, mercury retrograde, eclipse season is intense! I for one am feeling it all. It’s a powerful time for manifesting, releasing and deep healing. Right now it is Important to find what grounds you. Meditate, breathe, move your Body. Don’t distract yourself from what is coming up but embrace it. Hear it, feel it and then let that s**t go. If you happen to need some reiki love for the ride I am here for you! 🌈 🌟💆🏻‍♀️
