We commend Dr. Janice Ascencio and Dr. Diana Vazquez-Parker for serving on a medical mission to La Paz, Honduras.

The doctors ran a women's health clinic from February 15th to 21st, performing exams, ultrasounds, and minor procedures.

This was the inaugural trip for our global health rotation in women's health. Our team cared for over 465 patients.

We extend our gratitude to Dr. Ascencio and Dr. Vazquez-Parker for their humanitarian efforts, for broadening our mission, and for delivering compassionate healthcare well beyond the walls of our hospital.

Many children get teased by siblings or friends at some point in their childhood. Teasing isn’t usually harmful when done in a mutual, friendly, and playful way. However, when teasing constantly turns hurtful and cruel, it becomes bullying.
Bullying is when peers intentionally use physical, verbal, or psychological ways to torment someone else, using a real or perceived power imbalance between the bully and the victim.
Here are the warning signs that your child may be getting bullied, ways for them to improve their situation, and ways parents can rebuild their child's confidence and help them get through this experience.

Our Story

The story of Jamaica Hospital goes way back to the 1880’s before Queens County became a part of the City of New York.

The early history of our hospital was colorfully described in a book written earlier in the 20th Century by a member of the medical staff at the hospital named Francis G. Riley, M.D.

His chronicle titled, “The Jamaica Hospital” A History of the Institution follows below
