Let’s stop commoditizing emotional growth.
In The Wild Edge of Sorrow, Francis Weller writes:
“Happiness has become the new mecca, and anything short of that often leaves us feeling that we have done something wrong or failed to live up to the acknowledged standard. This forces sorrow, pain, fear, weakness, and vulnerability into the underworld, where they fester and mutate into contorted expressions of themselves, often coated in a mantle of shame.”
In a culture obsessed with bio-hacking, optimizing, and 10x-ing every aspect of life, we risk forgetting that emotional growth isn’t something to package and sell. It's something that connects us more deeply to others and the earth.
We aren’t built to move at the speed of the internet. We change at the pace of nature—slowly, cyclically, and sometimes without obvious fanfare.
My hope for my clients is they experience change that's rooted in real-time transformation, which is often subtle and embodied.
