Hi Everyone,
I've been re-inventing myself and working on a community project, now I'm reaching out to you, hoping you'll lend a hand. "The Re-Imagined Closet" is a project aimed at benefiting homeless and unemployed youths currently in New York City. We are working on behalf of the Ali Forney Center. We hope to empower these youths (16-24) by styling, and dressing them for success with up-cycled and re-imagined clothing. There are thousands of LGBTQ youths across the U.S. forced into homelessness and struggle to find employment due to the social stigma and discrimination. The "ALI FORNEY" center on 125th St, provides a safe place for these youths to seek medical care, career training, as well as Temporary beds for overnight stays. http://www.aliforneycenter.org/about-us/lgbtq-youth-crisis

How you can help:
Simply bag gently used, clean clothing in a closed plastic bag, drop off at the following sites:

1- Ali Forney Center : 321 W125th St. NYC (Bill Torres- preferred ship to add. ).
2- Ritz Bar and Lounge : 369 W46th st. off 9th ave.(DJ Xavier or Elena Barrick)
3- Gramercy building : 340 E23rd ST. between 1st and 2nd ave (Doorman)

(only new socks or under garments pls, ok to include shoes/boots)

As the weather changes and you sort through your closet, please consider donating. For all of my Fashion Industry families, unfinished prototypes with great textiles are also welcomed. Ali Forney is a non-profit organization. Anyone requesting a tax donation receipt should include a note with (1)name, (2)email address(3)estimated fair market value of the donation. The center will follow up with a thank you note as proof of receipt. or you can send me your info:
