Friends and anyone else I really need your help!

Here is the situation:
A lady (fellow immigrant who doesn't have any one here) went for biopsy on her throat 3.5 years ago
and instead of the biopsy the doctor did a procedure of cutting out a piece of her vocal string without her agreement!

This caused her to partially lose her voice.
Now 3.5 years later she was on a way to 50% recovery
but suddenly something happened and she totally lost her voice!

The malpractice statue of limitations is only 2.5 years.
But even with that it will not give her back the voice.

Do you have any suggestions if there is anything that can be done to help her???
