Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to spend with your family and reflect on what you are thankful for :). We know that for children with special needs, Thanksgiving may be stressful due to the unpredictability of the day. A way to help your child better understand and transition through the holiday is to introduce a visual schedule. Here are two great examples of both general and specific routines.

We love to take our own pictures or use Google Images to create a visual schedule for our clients. If you have questions, feel free to comment below!

Here's a few of our favorite books that you can use with your little ones to promote language growth. It's important to make story time a part of your child's day.

12-24 MONTHS

Choosing an appropriate book for your child's age will help keep their attention and interest in the story. Here are some tips to remember when reading with your child:
- Ask to point or label items in pictures to promote vocabulary
- Ask WH- questions, such as WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, WHY, to improve story comprehension and abstract thinking.
