Treatment to a low bridge and thick skin.

Most requires augmentation of the nose. The bridge height, when very low, can create a short appearance on the side profile and a wide ill-defined appearance on the front views. Also, common in Asian noses, is the skin on the tip of the nose tends to be thicker.

To create a more contoured shape to the tip, the skin needs to be stretched; this is done by adding height to the tip using cartilage grafts. These changes required significant cartilage which can be reliably sourced from rib cartilage. I strongly recommend using one’s own cartilage when possible vs using donor cartilage as the risk for resorption (or loss of volume) is considerably higher for donor rib on the tip supporting grafts.
