“Is this stress, or something more?”

You’re not alone.

We see patients every week who ignore the signs because life is busy. Work, family, responsibilities… your health often comes last.

But here’s the truth: Your body whispers before it screams. That occasional chest discomfort, shortness of breath, and fatigue you can’t explain. These aren’t things to “push through.”

At Heart & Vascular Clinic, we don’t just treat conditions — we listen, we guide, and we help you take control before small issues become serious.

❤️ Your heart deserves attention now, not later.

High cholesterol usually has no noticeable symptoms, which is why routine screening is essential.

In more advanced cases, signs may include:

• Chest pain related to narrowed arteries
• Yellowish fatty deposits on the skin or eyelids
• A gray-white ring around the eye (in younger patients)
• Symptoms of heart attack or stroke

The most reliable way to detect high cholesterol is with a simple blood test.

We talk a lot about diet and exercise… but what about stress?

Chronic stress doesn’t just live in your head — it impacts your heart.
Over time, elevated stress hormones can raise blood pressure, increase inflammation, and put extra strain on your cardiovascular system.

The good news? Small daily habits can make a big difference.

✨ Take a 20-minute walk
✨ Practice deep breathing
✨ Protect your sleep
✨ Nourish your body
✨ Stay connected

Your heart works for you every single day. This month, choose one way to work for it. ❤️

An echocardiogram is a safe, painless ultrasound that shows how your heart is working in real time.

It helps your cardiology team evaluate:

• Heart muscle strength
• Heart valve function
• Blood flow through the heart
• Structural or congenital heart conditions

It plays a key role in diagnosing problems early and guiding the right treatment plan.

🔗 Early detection = better treatment and better outcomes.

When it comes to heart health, your genetics truly matter. Knowing your family heart history can be just as important as your lifestyle.

If close relatives have had heart disease, hypertension, or strokes, your risk may be higher.
Here’s what to do:

✔ Ask relatives about heart issues (age, conditions, treatments)
✔ Share this info with your cardiologist
✔ Be extra vigilant: stay on top of check-ups, monitor cholesterol and blood pressure, live a healthy and balanced life

Your family history isn’t a destiny—but it is a powerful tool to guide smarter prevention.

New year, same you—and that’s a good thing. 💪

Skip the drastic resolutions and focus on small habits that actually fit your life.

Do you know your LDL number?

LDL (“bad”) cholesterol can quietly build up in your arteries, increasing your risk of heart attack and stroke.

Here’s what the American Heart Association reports you should keep in mind:
Ideal LDL for healthy adults is ≤ 100 mg/dL. If you’ve had a heart event already, your target may be 70 mg/dL or lower.

Everyone aged 20 and over should have their LDL checked every 4–6 years (as long as risk remains low).

Healthy habits work together! Manage stress, eat well, move often, and prioritize sleep.
