Our Story

Prisoners of Hope was given birth to in a home group, which led to a return to Biblical Christianity for the group members. In 2011 the group started going to a Homeless Shelter in PA. The Lord just kept adding, supernaturally to the ministry. Prisoners of Hope holds a weekly Bible Study at Homeless Shelter in PA and Women's Rehab in NJ. POH has weekly deliverance/counseling sessions at the Women’s Rehab. We hold a two monthly outreaches providing food for 80, worship, a message from the Word of God, and prayer ministry, for the people at the homeless shelter. POH also provides counseling for residents, if needed. POH also goes into a Prison in PA and does one on one counseling/deliverance sessions. Prison Ministry includes deliverance/inner healing. Part of this ministry is also to write and encourage the incarcerated. POH at times will mentor those who are exiting incareration, or drug rehabilitation, this is always led by the Holy Spirit and dependent on man power. POH also does pastoral work in hospital visits, performing marriages, water baptism, memorial services, baby dedication, etc. for people who may not enter the traditional church. These services and individual counseling/deliverance/grief counsel, are available for those in the church for an hourly fee. (we take into consideration those with financial hardships.) POH also is available to teach Grief Recovery class (8 week course) POH also does a monthly outreach at a local group home for the mentally ill. We will have a meal with the 5 residents, just love on them, and are available to pray for them. POH also collects new or in good condition tents, sleeping bags, small propane tanks, bikes, clothes for homeless shelter residents or street people in need. POH collects Bibles in good condition for the Gillhaus Bible Ministry. These Bibles go all over the world. At Christmas we collect bags with needed items for the Homeless Shelter, the Women’s Rehab, and the Juvenile Group Home.

July 21, 2020 Update. Since Covid 19, the Homeless Shelter has been closed for outreaches, up until June 2020 we continued to drop our monthly meal off to feed the residents. The Women’s rehab also closed the door to outsiders, but we still continue our weekly Bible Study their via zoom. We still continue our monthly outreach to the residents at the Group Home in Frenchtown, NJ, as long as we are able to eat outside. We have been able to do phone counsel for those struggling through these difficult times, and to help homeless people living in their cars have a few nights in a hotel, or to store their items in a storage unit. We have paid the fee for those who needed to return to a rehab setting, got fishing licenses for the group home guys, and met many more needs. Now we are seeking the Lord for blueprints for the future, what does Father want, and is Father changing the direction of this ministry? Where are we now to throw in our nets? Where in the harvest field are we to reap? These are the questions we are asking in this time period. We will keep you posted. At this time the Lord has let POH know the assignment at the Prison in PA is finished. The assignment at the Homeless Shelter is done for the time being, but will re=emerge in the future.
